The Berkeley City Council will consider a resolution that would declare the Army private suspected of leaking classified information to WikiLeaks a hero and call for his release.
The council plans a vote Tuesday on the resolution in support of Pfc. Bradley Manning, who is being held in a military brig in Virginia. A city commission already has approved it.
Bob Meola, who authored the resolution, tells the San Francisco Chronicle that Manning is a patriot who deserves a medal.

We should accept and rejoice in this announcement - in fact, to help the celebration the US Army should offer to provide a free fireworks display.
A half megaton tactical should provide quite a display!

If Berkeley were ground-zero to a nuclear attack, I swear to God I’d celebrate. These people voting for such a thing truly don’t deserve to breathe free American air.

The house and senate passed legislation that would make leaking classified information a felony and publishing that information illegal as well.
President Bubba vetoed the legislation at the behest of CNN, Washington comPost, NYSlimes and the newspaper writers assoc.
Suddenly we have these numbskulls in CA deifying these leakers on the one hand and Senator LIEberman wanting to punish the NYSlimes on the other hand.
And so we pay a price for the lack of principle.
