Criticizing Islam may get you a court summons in Canada. But calling the Jews “privileged racists” who intentionally exploit the memory of the Holocaust to generate political power may just get you a graduate degree.
The University of Toronto has come under heavy criticism for accepting a master’s thesis from an anti-Israel activist that accuses the Jewish community of deliberately using Holocaust-remembrance programs to create a false impression of Jewish victimhood, in order to make it easier for Jews to push “racist” and “apartheid” policies in Israel:
The thesis, titled “The Victimhood of the Powerful: White Jews, Zionism and the Racism of Hegemonic Holocaust Education,” was written by Jenny Peto, a Jewish activist with the Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid. It denounces the March of Remembrance and Hope, for which young adults of diverse backgrounds travel with Holocaust survivors to sites of Nazi atrocities in Poland, and March of the Living Canada, which takes young Jews with survivors to Poland and Israel.
Peto argues that the two programs cause Jews to falsely believe they are innocent victims. In reality, she writes, they are privileged white people who “cannot see their own racism.” The “construction of a victimized Jewish identity,” she argues, is intentional: It produces “effects that are extremely beneficial to the organized Jewish community” and to “apartheid” Israel.

Just substitute the word “black” for “Jew” throughout the thesis and see how far it gets.

Jew hatred is epidemic on college campuses. It is completely acceptable to slander Jews, while bowing like a good dhimmi to the Muslims.
And this is different from Slavery reparations, how?
No. It’s not about jew hatred.
The money quote is “privileged white people”. There is the explanation to the hatred towards Israel and jews. They are seen as no different from other white people. What appears to be anti-semitism is actually all about the usual racism towards white people. And this is why the Israelis lose the propaganda war against the muslims. Western liberals will always side with whomever they see as the browner side against evil white people.
Anti-colonalism includes a large slice of reverse racism. Never mind that the Aztecs cut out people’s hearts. Never mind that even the Maya religion also had the same dark side as the worship of Moloch as described in the Bible. It was the evil Spaniards we must condemn, even though their admitted tyranny was more benevolent than that of Indian tyrants. Never mind that the Japanese behaved like savages during their military campaigns in China and elsewhere, or exhibited a degree of religious fanaticism unparalleled in world history, but we must accept that on the eve of our dropping the atomic bomb that the fanatics in control of the army would let the Imperial government negotiate a surrender with the Allies, something admittedly impossible with Hitler. The Jews working on the bomb knew Hitler, of course. They knew nothing about the Japanese, or they would not have signed a petition against the dropping of the bomb on Japan.

Or, for that matter, the slave trade across the Saraha was larger than the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
I’m now teaching in a largely Native community, and the concept of the self as victim is powerful and won’t be abandoned easily. Being a victim makes you the subject of compassion, and those of us who talk about responsibility have a much harder time of it.
As I tell my students now - the good news is that Obama and the Democrats have bankrupted the economy, and you’ll have no choice but to work hard and relearn traditional values of thrift, modesty, and family. Some even smile. There is hope.
I am disturbed by the extension of unemployment even for the next six months. There are large numbers of Englishmen who have never worked in their lives, who have internalized the ethic of Alfred Dolittle. I much prefer Shaw’s scenario about what happened to Eliza “after” the end of the play. She and Freddie opened a flower shop and she utilized her new social polish and work ethic to provide them both with a respectable standard of living, despite Freddie’s philandering.
Wasn’t this Norman Finklestein’s thesis? In fact plenty of antisemitic Jews hold this leftist notion.

Off the top of my head here’s how:
1. Time. The Holocaust was 50 years ago. There are still people alive who went through it. Slavery in the US ended in 1865. Quite a difference there.
2. Victimization. Jews in the US and Israel lead productive lives and contribute to society in many ways. Compare the percentages to Black welfare and crime. Jews do not have a multi-generational mythos of “we have been exploited” therefore society owes us.
Apologies to those great Canadians that stand by Israel and the US as allies and don't buy into theCanadian propaganda anti-israel baloney. Stand strong Canadian's hold the line against PC madness and the religion of BS propaganda.
