I think I’ll wait for further discussion by those familiar with the details. The Fairbanks Daily News is kind of like the NY Times of the North.

I do know that Sarah made quite a few cuts of pork boondoggles, but that she had some trouble with the Republican Corrupt Bastards Club, or at least those of those left after the FBI had put their leaders away.

Isn’t June of 2009 about when she resigned her office? Did Parnell actually sign those bills? I wouldn’t blame her for not vetoing a bill that she wasn’t in office to veto.

I believe she made herself pretty clearly heard at the time.

Palin Signs six appropriations bills:
The federal economic stimulus appropriation bill, HB 199, was signed, and as previously announced, the governor did not accept the $28.6 million for energy funds. The funds are tied to building codes that the state would be required to entice local communities to adopt. The [G]overnor noted that if legislators disagree with her decision, they can express that through a veto override (Appropriations Bills, 2009, ¶11).

“Alaskans and our communities have a long history of independence and opposing many mandates from Washington, D.C.,” said Governor Palin. “The question of whether or not to adopt energy building codes is best determined by local governments, not Washington, D.C. Alaskans across the state are actively working to reduce energy costs. A federal government mandate is essentially another tax on Alaskans building or renovating a structure, thus increasing costs” (Appropriations Bills, 2009, ¶12)

So in at least one case, she DID veto the spending from the economic stimuls bill that included strings.

If it is negative or attempts to reflect poorly on Governor Palin, you can bet the house that Pissant will be there to post it just like he did to Nikki Haley..

Does not matter if it is true or not.

You will also rarely, if ever, see Pissant post anything, either from another source or his own comments that are positive about Governor Palin.

His name is appropriate.

Dad gave me a copy of Sarah's new book this week. It's well worth the time to read.

I had a customer today that was the spittin' image of Sarah...right down to her glasses, hair and athletic wear.

How a woman who looks like Sarah manages to survive in 'The People's Republic of Madistan' (Think, 'Berkeley Lite') impresses the h#ll outta me, LOL!

For the snarky writer: THE LEGISLATURE OVERRODE SARAH’S VETO!!!! That’s enough to discredit any breath he takes.

Thanks. I thought I had read something like that. Sarah did NOT say that she vetoed all the government stimulus money. She said that she vetoed all the government stimulus money that came WITH STRINGS ATTACHED. Money that required onerous future commitments from the state.

That’s what your excerpts suggest, and that’s what I recall her saying.

This story suggests they were going to override her veto:

Palin Vetoes include some stimulus:

State legislators and U.S. Sen. Mark Begich, D-Alaska, immediately criticized Palin for turning down the $28.6 million.
...
Palin announced her decision Thursday while signing the state budgets into law. The governor made few other spending vetoes, in contrast with previous years, and accepted the rest of the $930 million in stimulus money that Alaska is eligible for.
...
The governor had initially balked at taking nearly a third of the available stimulus money -- calling it an "unsustainable, debt ridden package of funds" -- before agreeing to take all but 3 percent of it after the Legislature rejected her concerns.

You have the best tag-line I’ve read in a while. The lips aren’t bad, either.

whats sick is the media attempt to rewrite Palin’s history, not the other way around. Palin stopped the Bridge to Nowhere, but they now claim she did not.

Ah, the dishonest and deceitful saga of pissant continues.

Don't you love how he sows discord and hate amongst conservatives by posting liberal talking points from liberal sources?

He must be a relative of Grima Wormtongue.

What a monster he's become.

So Palin approved $900 million but vetoed $28 billion.

Interesting.

Thats how I remember it as well. I remember the media made a big deal about it as well - attack her for playing politics, so I’m sure if you go back you’ll find articles on this. Now they pretend that didn’t happen
