EXCLUSIVE: Bristol Palin Responds to Kathy Griffin's 'Fat' Attack
fox ^ | 12/6/10 | Hollie McKay

Posted on 12/06/2010 4:45:09 PM PST by Nachum

Kathy Griffin hosted the VH1 Divas salute to the troops this weekend, but her “jokes” about Bristol Palin being “fat” fell flat.

"She's the only contestant in the history of the show to actually gain weight," Griffin said in reference to Bristol's trip to the finals on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Even after the troops' loud booing, Griffin continued the attack.

"No, come on, come on. She gained like 30 pounds a week, I swear to God, it was fantastic,” Griffin said. “She's like the white Precious."

(Actress Gabourey Sidibe played the role of “Precious,” a 350-pound black woman in the hit Lee Daniels film which was released last year.)

"Griffin is the dyke.....

Although she has a huge gay following, to my knowledge she is straight. I've never heard of her linked to any woman and I can't imagine if she were that she would try to hide it. Most probably it would be quite the opposite.

"......she hates the troops..."

Well that possible, but part of me doubts it. She took the time and effort to make a trip to Iraq in 2006. Griffin thrives on shock and controversy, the more the better. I think that some of what she comes out with is just her schtik. I'll admit however that her performances are not my cup of tea (language and sexual references etc.).

Upon giving it more thought, I think that Griffin might be a younger nastier version of Joan Rivers. I remember a bit that Rivers did at the time of Karen Carpenter’s death. She said something like, “I have no sympathy for anyone who can be buried in pleats”, I just couldn’t believe anyone could joke like that and be so insensitive. Some comedians certainly come across as a strange breed.

I'm actually surprised the blacks in Hollywood haven't jumped down her throat on such a careless, insensitive remark. Whoopi? Any comments?

Palin’s a couple of lucky breaks, high cheek bones and a shapely ankle away from a trailer park. She’s cramming for the top job in the world without ever having aced a test in her life. She’s the very definition of a lightweight.

Not nice and very ELITIST comments...

If you're trying to say Sarah's a normal person, that's what we need. We need people with COMMON SENSE, decency, and America's best interests at heart.

For example, normal people here on FR with no political experience instinctively know what's right and what's wrong about the laws that are currently being passed. They may not have gone to Columbia and Harvard like obama, but they have common sense about the disastrous effect of the up-coming obamacare.

I constantly quote her, chapter and verse. And all I get was “that was McCain’s position”.

Don't. Just don't. You're not fooling anyone here.

Every VP candidate's own opinions and positions are muted on the campaign trail, and you know it. They speak for the Presidential candidate, not themselves.

You want to criticize Palin, that's fine, just make sure you're criticizing her positions - NOT McCain's.

Once he even posted that he would gracefully bos out of the forum to Jim Rob.....which of course he hasn't. Can't even keep his word.

Oh, I was on that thread the night he posted that. He disappeared (more like lurked) for a few days, then quietly started posting again. Plenty of folks challenged him about breaking his word, but he ignored them all.

He's completely dishonorable and his blind hatred of Sarah Palin is a case study in PDS from the right.

Pardon my language. Really, I’d like to tell you that if the GOP nominates somebody other than Sarah Palin, they’ll be able to win the election while avoiding the drama. The problem is that avoiding the drama is most likely not going to be an option, this election or probably the next few. The other party and the press will create drama for anybody who gets the nomination. So the question is, who can stand the heat and the pressure, turn them to good use and keep up the fight anyway? From what I’ve seen, I’ve got a pretty good idea that the gov can. The other guys? I don’t know. Well, in Huckabee’s case, I’m actively unimpressed with his temperament, and the rest I just don’t know. And it’s something we really would be better off knowing before we nominate any of them. It’s going to matter as much as anything else, if not more.

Like it or not, Bristol is fat.

The truth is hell. Ask Juan Williams.

As I was clicking through the TV channels one evening, I noticed this overweight, clumsy girl dancing on this program. As I was clicking along, the host announced it was Bristol...I couldn’t believe it. I continued clicking on past.

Other than saying Bristol was fat and lacked co-ordination (clumsy), the rest of the comments were nasty, mean, and unnecessary.

I’m referring to earlier feminists in the mid to late 18th century. They were into sexual liberation and didn’t like “regular” patriarchal marriage. That has been part and parcel of feminism since the beginning.

The earliest feminists were kooks, and as far as women voting, that would have come about anyway, without the man-haters, who have indeed been the driving force since the beginning, and still are.

“That worked so well for the Republican party, no?”

You make an apples vs oranges comparison. The context, and the parties are nor analogous.

It does not matter what Bristol says. Anything she says in response will work to Griffins general advantage, because it honors Griffin and what she says as worthy of a response.

Griffin knows that. She makes her living being a “bad girl”. Like a famous actress once said, as far as she was concerned, the only bad publicity was no publicity. I am sure Griffin feels exactly the same way. Nothing Bristol says will change Griffins audience or those that help provide her an audience.

Whatever Bristol says will not “put Griffin in her place”, as far as Griffin and anyone she appeals to are concerned. Anything Bristol says will just give Griffin something else about Bristol to play off of. Griffin is hoping she’s started a long public tit-for-tat with Bristol. Bristol should not reward her by playing along.

The fact is, leftists are bullies and manipulators. There are times to igore. More importantly, there are times to bloody their noses.

I always enjoy seeing a communist with a bloody nose.

“More importantly, there are times to bloody their noses....I always enjoy seeing a communist with a bloody nose.”

My point is that the only ones that will “cheer” Bristol’s response are those who are cheering Bristol anyway, and not anyone who is not already cheering Bristol. For those that Griffin appeals to she will have the victory of starting a childish cat fight and gotten her opponent to participate. That won’t be a “bloody nose” to Griffin or anyone she appeals to.

that would have come about anyway

You are right, it would have come about anyway. Thats true for All rights, including free speech and other freedoms. They would have come about anyway. America would have been created anyway. Those founding fathers did jack-squat, since the constitution would have come about anyway. The Son of God was clearly wasting his time sacrificing himself because religion and god would have come to us anyway

FYI, this "argument" of trivializing most rights movements in the past is so common, I am pretty sick of it. So I am going to stop with posting this anymore.

Since you pretty much judged the women's rights movement almost completely based on some "feminist" pervert who hit on you, and you have offered no argument of substance except (and I am being generous here) feminist=feminazi, I have no idea why I am continuing on this so I'll stop.

You need to improve your reading comprehension skills. My viewpoint of feminism is not because one pervert hit on (more than one did, actually). My viewpoint of feminism is because of reason and study.
