For months, military leaders and commentators have been warning Israelis their cities face an unprecedented threat of missile attacks even as the country invests heavily in developing air-defense systems experts say cannot provide adequate protection.
This uncharacteristically downbeat theme was summed up by Maj. Gen. Amod Yadlin, the outgoing chief of Military Intelligence, in a Nov. 21 briefing to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's Cabinet.
"Tel Aviv will be a front line in the next conflict," he warned.
A few days earlier, he'd told the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that "future wars
will be much bigger, much wider and with many more casualties" than Israelis have experienced before.

Geography does not favor the Israelites. They will need divine intervention.
Divine intervention in the shape of giant mushrooms.
So let it be done.
But you’d think that “civilized” nations would lean hard on whomever is assembling the array of rockets pointed at Israel. Gutless wonders at best, and evil accessories at the core. Just like that deal that we all vowed to “never forget!”
A few glass parking lots where Hesbollah and Hamas scum once launched from would be a nice addition to the Middle East. ... Did you know that the MOABs can make glass?
Tel Aviv on the front line????
They need to step out while they potentially have an advantage in that arena.
If they can develop an effective layered air defense they can make it.
Their chances improve tremendously if they nuke Teheran.
I think that is coming very soon.
There is no problem that cannot be resolved by the expert use of the correct amount of high explosives. In this case "adequate protection" would be just long enough for Israel to "deal" with the bad guy's firing locations.
The arabs got away with missle attacks because the effectiveness was limited and the terrorists hid among women and children.
They start raining missles down on Tel Aviv, the response will be carpet and fire bombing until nothing moves in the fire zone without being destroyed.
they should also clearly warn Iran, back off or die.
What you said.
Best thing israel can do is tell the un that every arab missile that lands in Israeli territory will be met with one Israeli missile being launched into an arab population center followed by The destruction of the oil fields.
Israel was crazy to pull out of the Gaza strip and Southern Lebanon. It’s too bad the US put the pressure on them to do that as it makes us somewhat responsible for what is going to happen.
