I have a feeling that what they have in mind is not a return to ‘Leave it to Beaver’ or ‘Father Knows Best.’

Have not the DUmmies been accusing “right-wing religious nuts” of doing this very thing that the left-wing idiots at the FCC are now doing?

Sorry, I cut & pasted the link, but it looks like it’s messed up. Try this:

Considering the hatred which typifies the Hussein regime, TV will change to this...

I think I speak for most FREepers when I say that if this is what it takes to protect us from WIKILeaks, then this is a small price to pay to remain free and safe!

The government is the only one who can save us from dangerous information in the closet.

If we didn’t have the FCC, children would be forced to watch pornography on prim-time TV.

I’m confused by your post. What this FCC Commissioner is talking about is basically a back-door fairness doctrine for any media outlet under its control. Cable TV primarily, but could also be extended to radio stations as a way to force conservative talkers off the air. They will do it under the guise of promoting “diversity”.

Beck is talking about this right now on his radio show. The FCC Commissioner wants to micro-manage minute details on individual TV shows, to include the number of minority characters on an individual show.

Remember what Mark Lloyd (FCC Diversity Czar) said:

Audio: FCC’s Diversity Czar: ‘White People’ Need to be Forced to ‘Step Down’ ‘So Someone Else Can Have Power’

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/seton-motley/2009/09/23/fccs-diversity-czar-white-people-need-be-forced-step-down-so-someone-0#ixzz17RIkCyVX

And he admired how Hugo Chavez came to power, which never would have happened had Chavez not taken control of the media in Venezuela:

What is wrong with Cable TV that they need to meddle in it?

Yeah, those evil private corporations would strap our children down and force open their eye via “clockwork orange style” to watch inappropriate material.

As far as I’m concerned, nothing. I was just confused by the other post.

A few years ago, I was a proponent on this site of abolishing the FCC.

People thought I was rash and kooky and figured children needed protection from the government.

I figured the FCC would eventually get around to being the oppressive tool it is turing out to be.

I’ve found that a lot of FReepers are slow learners and some probably won’t learn even when the nice men from the government are loading them onto boxcars.
