The verdict is in, and Horrible Holly Graf has escaped justice. She will be retired in her present grade, despite a laundry list of offenses that would have cost a male captain his stripes months ago. Once again, the "double-standard" of justice has reared it's ugly head.
The "female Captain Bligh" is being retired with a general discharge. Even the PC-hobbled Navy couldn't put lipstick on that pig - to let her go out with a HONORABLE discharge - when she wreaked such havoc and broke so many regulations. If there is any solace in this at all, the most hated woman in the Navy will never be an admiral like "big sister," Robin Graf.
It is obvious that if a male captain had say, grabbed a female subordinate officer by the neck (physical assault, by any definition) and thrown hard objects at crew-members' heads, that person would have been put in a straight-jacket and kicked out of the service.
BOARD FAILS TO SEND MESSAGE GRAF'S CONDUCT SHOULD HAVE RESULTED IN LOSS OF RANK
We had hoped, with a Board of Inquiry consisting of three non-USNA grads, perhaps Graf would lose at least one stripe and the Navy would "send a message" to the Fleet that what she did will not be tolerated. But the BOI copped out. The vote was 2-to-1 that Graf committed misconduct. That means one member of the board incredibly could sit there and witness overwhelming evidence to the contrary and still, apparently, vote her gender.
At least it was a unanimous vote that the shrill screamer "committed conduct unbecoming an officer" for the "maltreatment and cruelty" shown to her crew as commanding officer of the cruiser, USS Cowpens. She was relieved of command of her ship earlier this year.
We have received messages from the COWPENS denouncing Graf's slur that the ship was "worst on the waterfront" and that she had whipped them into shape as "best in the Pacific."
"What she said was a flat-out lie," complained a longtime member of the crew. "We had passed all inspections with flying colors prior to her coming aboard, and still maintained our excellence, despite her reign of terror as captain."
The odd strategy of blaming her ship and crew for Graf's own troubles, paid off for "slash-and-burn" military defense attorney Charles Gittins. He is the biggest winner in all this, as anyone other than Graf would have lost one or two stripes and been kicked out of the Navy. He was able to salvage Graf's pension and retirement in-grade.
The findings come at the end of three days of testimony, in which the best witness for Graf the defense team could muster was the top female Navy chaplain who said Graf was "the most dedicated" officer she had ever seen in Naval service. We think she should have said "cruelest" or "craziest." That would have been more accurate.
Shame on the mainstream media, who avoided covering this embarrassment to feminism and "political correctness" like the plague.
Now, the findings, announced by Adm. Mark Buzby, will be forwarded to Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, who is expected to rubber stamp them without comment.
Women should stay at home.
If nothing else her sister is an admiral. No doubt that’s part of it.
And then the Navy wonders WHY enlisted MEN HATE Officers.
They should have busted her down a couple of ranks.
Here’s another miscarriage of military justice: among the individuals pardoned by Obama is one Edgar L. Kranz, Jr., of Minot, ND. He received a pardon for his courts-martial conviction (as a member of the Air Force) back in 1994). According to military records, Kranz was found guilty of adultery, cocaine use and passing bad checks while stationed in Hawaii. He was sentenced to a bad conduct discharge, 24 months of home confinement and reduction in grade to airman basic. The BCD was later suspended.
Here’s where this case gets interesting. According to Air Force Times, Kranz retired from the service as a Master Sergeant earlier this year. That’s right, even with a suspended BCD, he was allowed to remain in the service, climb the ranks (again) and spend enough time in uniform to earn his pension.
The time when Kranz was court-martialed came just after the mid-point in my USAF career. In the mid-1990s, the service was over-manned; we were offering 15-year retirement, conducting RIFs and SERBs to get rid of personnel. We eliminated more than 10,000 billets just to keep the F-22 program alive.
Against that backdrop, how do you allow an airman who’s been court-martialed to remain in uniform, and let him re-enlist three or four more times? It simply boggles the mind. And, Obama’s pardon only makes matters worse. Now, Kranz is entitled to a full range of veterans benefits and his right to vote has been restored as well.
Obviously, the President didn’t do a lot of checking before granting the pardon. But the USAF screwed up royally by allowing this character to remain in service, and eventually become an E-7. Getting this type of “second chance” is virtually unprecedented—makes you wonder why Kranz was deserving of such favors.
Probably why the Marine Corps first mission is to keep the sailers apart!
She should have been busted down to E-1 and then maybe permitted to receive her pension. Maybe !
Seeing a picture of her, she definitely looks pretty “sturdy” ! She must play the male part of the relationship !

The reality is that while alumni from USNA are tight, they also know way more about their classmates than other people. More often than not those people take the opportunity to fix a wrong.
Don’t sully the name of Captain Bligh. He was a brilliant seaman who had one bad voyage. After he was booted off the Bounty, he and the men who stayed loyal to him managed to navigate several hundreds of miles over open water to a safe haven.

You take what you can get. I have to admit I’m surprised she even she got this in today’s PC Navy but it’s better than her getting off scot free. And remember, nothing is final until SECNAV signs off on it.

You’re right. An open boat, 3600 miles in 45 days, IIRC. That was an incredible story. Bligh was an S.O.B., no doubt, but he was an incredible seaman and one tough dude.

Saw the same thing happen to an E-6 in the Army that battered his wife and his German lover (and her pimp) in 1980. He was busted to E-1, sent to the Retraining Brigade at Fort Riley KS. The Army, in its infinite wisdom, returned him to Germany and assigned him to another command just across the Rhein River from where he committed his crimes. The last I saw before DEROS he had made it back to E-5. Probably made it to E-7 and made retirement, too.
Not hundreds of miles. Thousands!

From what I have read, that navigation by Capt. Bligh in the small boat he was set adrift on, was one of the greatest feats of naval seamanship in all of history.
