No one should do anything about this company because of anything having to do with John Kerry or his wife. Mrs. Kerry sold her shares years ago. You can see who the major shareholders are here. No one owns as much as 5% of the stock, and Mrs. Kerry does not even appear on the list of major shareholders, nor do her foundations and trusts. You've got 5,000 people packing tomatoes and pickles in factories, and people here would have you get them all laid off because a long time ago Mrs. Kerry used to be Mrs. Heinz. Please... stop the madness.

Ketchup and politics are hot topics. I am glad that the Heinz curse is lifted now.

Bump to what you wrote. Finally, some sanity on this thread.

I know a bunch of folks who own businesses. Every one of them has the same attitude as Mr. Johnson. They are all in “extremely hunkered down” mode waiting for nobama and his thugs to figure out what they are gonna do. Every one I speak to asks the same question, “What’s next?”

It may be several years before any of these people make any significant moves. Put yourself in their place. What would you do?

According to Wikipedia, she still sits on the Heinz family philanthropy board. But that could be outdated information. Do you have any other info that could shed light on the status of Teresa Heinz and the Heinz Family philanthropy organization?

I read somewhere that the Heinz family still owns 4% of the stock, and that is worth a lot of money.

Maybe my information is incorrect, but your post is not inconsistent with my memory.

Who knows just how much equity the Heinz’ family has in those investment firms?

Fact is, Heinz/Kerry are filthy rich and they got their great wealth initially from a company that is now sending jobs overseas.

Are we supposed to not buy Hunts Ketchup instead?

I'm going with the alternative Ketchups forever now.
