And just FYI:
That's the kind of leadership we need if we're going to turn today's challenges into tomorrow's opportunities. In 2008, I firmly believed that John McCain was the right man for America. Today, I know he's the right man for Arizona. Your state deserves more than rhetoric; you deserve a leader with a real record of accomplishment. That's why, on behalf of Sen. McCain, I'm asking for your vote. For the good of our entire country and the future of your state, please send John McCain back to the United States Senate.
Sarah Palin explicitly stated her view on McCain, in this quote and many others that were equally effusive in their praise.

You do her a great disservice when you try to downplay her own opinions, or indirectly suggest that her support for McCain wasn't important, or that she lied about her opinion of McCain in order to not get attacked by the press.

Maybe that's not what you meant, but that's how your comment reads, like you think you need to make excuses for Sarah, which isn't the best thing for a supporter to do.

Sarah Palin doesn't need people making excuses for her. She speaks her mind, she does so publicly, and so far as I can tell, she MEANS WHAT SHE SAYS. Why would supporters think she was misleading or disingenous in what she says?

Sarah is her own person, and sometimes she might believe things that you don't agree with. Better to trust her, than try to make excuses for why she might not mean what she is saying.

Long before the summer of 2008, I respected the man known as the "maverick of the Senate." From up in the Last Frontier state, I'd watched with deep admiration as he fought tirelessly against wasteful spending and corruption. I was inspired by his willingness to buck his political party - and even his president - to do what he believed was right for this country.

I appreciate your research.

The issue here is whether Sarah Palin made enough of a difference in supporting McCain that J.D would have had a shot. McCain destroyed J.D. in the Primary, it wasn't even close.

I stand by my belief that Palin’s endorsement was based on Loyalty and she would have been eviscerated had she not backed him.
