I understand and agree. GHWB was still a son of a Senator and banker. ;-) And it would certainly apply to the kids. Rove was getting at the point of some GHWB and Barbara’s early life which wasn’t as rosy as, say, their kids.

My further point was it wasn’t necessarily the ‘blue blood’ aspect that got them in trouble, but the lack of certainty on free market economics and the need to feel loved by the media to an extent.

At one time I admired Rove a great deal. I thought he had found an electoral strategery that was unbeatable. But between amnesty and his recent anti-conservative crap, no, I’m not a fan. But-—and this is stretching it-—that’s like saying you hate Goldwater because of his many ridiculous positions later in life, vs. those that were at the core of his thought in the 1960s. At his peak, Rove was a genius. But time and politics passed him by.
