SENATOR COLLINS' STATEMENT ON 'DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL'
December 3, 2010
Following the conclusion of today's Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, Senator Susan Collins released this statement:
"Like our closest allies, the United States' Armed Forces should welcome the service of any qualified individual who is willing and capable of serving our country.
"After hearing powerful testimony from Secretary of Defense Gates and Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mullen, and reviewing the results of the Pentagon report, I remain convinced that the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy," implemented under President Clinton, should be repealed. And, I agree with Secretary Gates that the issue should be decided by Congress, not the courts.
It is way past time for this RINO to be put out to pasture ... along with her sister Olympia
Would someone explain what “serve openly” means? They can already serve if they just shut up about their sex lives, no one should be talking about their sex lives. They are there to break things and kill people.
She wants Queers to be “Special” like her.
That is what Scott Brown said when he came out today! (for repeal)
I have long argued that homosexuality (with which I have no personal experience) and alcoholism (with which I am intimately familiar) exhibit a large number of parallels. This is simply one more. We have alcoholics who serve honorably in the military, but we simply don't condone their being drunk on duty. Furthermore, their off duty activities can not be such that they discredit or reflect negatively upon the military. DADT essentially holds homosexuals to the same standard.
Hey susan... your ass is next... and then you too will be unemployed.

If you haven’t ever been in the military, How in Heck can you think it’s a good Idea. I am NOT politically correct and will call a spade a spade, this is wrong.
It hurts to see an R behind this woman’s name.
Insetead of an R they should just place three letters Senator Collins (Ass) Maine.
The Military discharges thousands more every year for failing to meet or maintain fitness standards do we retain them now as well because most of them can shoot as well as the homosexuals? They just —you know weight challenged. The Military discharges every year far more women for being Pregnant that it discharges homosexuals do we now retain them and force an abortion( es verdad that is covered in this legislation-they gonna make every Military hospital an abortion clinic force elective abortions-women who get pregnant will lose their early out) I guess the Military now will force women to have an abortion-or put their babe up for adoption Can forced sterilization be far off? by far the most discharges for homosexual behavior now are honorable-and most do not affect Military beyond the lower
ranks. And Most ,by far, are not contested. SO WHAT is the necessity? A Democrat from MissouriClaire McClaskey said on
Fox the other day they’ve served for decades with no problem-So again WHY the big rush to do this in Lame Duck Session—Why do it at all?
Every time I hear her name I see attached how she is supporting the Democrat and acting as one who HATES America,
I have wanted to Puke every time I hear her name especially as the LIAR calls herself a Republican.
Collins has spent her entire career as a politician and never done anything useful. She has never served in the military. She has never run a business. She has never even worked for a private company. Her opinions are as useful as one would expect, given her background.
Rose of sharon always appears to find these stinking RINO stories then claims the GOP represents SCUM like Collins. This b8tch Collins has to go.
Next on the agenda is establishing a position for a NAMBLA NCO in every unit.
This seems to be of a higher priority than counting military votes in elections.
Collins is a turd in the pool. (kindest way of puttin’ it)
Looking at her, she always reminds me of a dog trying to eat peanut butter.
How about Senator Collins (POS) from Maine
