President Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden hosted a party Thursday marking the second day of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. Obama offered condolences to those who have died in a forest fire in northern Israel before recounting the story of the Maccabees fighting in the Temple in Jersualem watching a day's worth of oil burn for eight.

Did Obama offer condolences for the American workers killed in the BP accident? I don’t remember but he did pretty quickly for foreign fire victims.

What am I missing? The article posted here and the accompanying video indicates that he was there and that he made some remarks. The official WH Blog has the same video as well as some photos of the event. This party was held the night of December 2.
