I can’t prasie Gov. Christie enough about this. Taking on the teachers’ unions - he’s got brass balls because they are ruthless about getting what they want.

He’s not taking them on. He’s just not being cowed by their tactics. He knows who and what they are.

IMHO

Exactly. It’s not that he’s taking them on. It’s that he’s not backing down.

Since I seldom turn on a tv, and I live a long ways from NJ--this is the first time I have actually seen Gov. Christie.

I knew he was one of the good guys, because I freep a lot--but I watched this entire clip--and I'm blown away!

It was hosted by Jeb Bush. Are they planning a Bush/Christi ticket?

Men like Mr. Christie don’t appear in politics very often.

He’s one of those people who’s willing to roll up his sleeves and get in the mud with the bottom dwellers and
instead of “doing it for the children”, he is really doing it for the children.

IMHO

The Gov is picking his battles, and fighting the education establishment is a damn good battle. If the only thing he accomplishes in NJ is gaining the ability to identify AND FIRE incompetent teachers, then he’s got my vote for Pres any time he chooses to run. I won’t care if he’s squishy on abortion or gun control (we have other people in those fights), if he can demonstrate an ability to stomp on public employee unions, then he’s the guy we need.

Jeb Bush is conservative and you’ll vote for the republican nominee against Obama.

Guess you don’t care about the Second Amendment or the Gestapo tactics employed in the People’s Republic of New Jersey against LEGAL firearms owners.
Christie is just another Obummer in a white suit.

ALL of thepublic sector unions and the municipal governments they control have launched an all-out war on Christie. They are using the safety and well-being of the tax-paying public for a political bludgeon to wield against him.

Christie seems like he is a tough debater. He could blast you with humorous sarcasm as he takes apart your argument.

He is a show stealer.

Inasmuch as I admire what he is doing and how he is doing it, I still think he's fighting the wrong fight. The way to slay this beast is to start from the bottom by supporting a competitor. Home education is the model for the 21st Century, as it is inherent to life-long self-teaching. The very idea of assembling people in a room for instruction is antique.

I make a distinction here between education and training, as there is a difference between instruction and learning to use equipment and perform physical tasks. Even then, the latter is better learned in the field for all but critical safety-related tasks. A mentoring and apprentice system is by far more suited in that case.
