DA seeks death penalty in officer's slaying [Riverside, CA]

The death penalty will be sought against Earl Ellis Green, the 44-year-old Rubidoux parolee charged with slaying Riverside Police officer Ryan Bonaminio, Riverside County District Attorney Rod Pacheco announced today.

"It was not a close call for us," Pacheco said.

Police believe Bonaminio, 27, was slain with his own gun the night of Nov. 7 in Riverside's Fairmount Park. He was attacked while running after a man who had fled from a semi-truck suspected in a hit-and-run accident.

Bonaminio slipped while running after a suspect, who then hit him on the head with a metal bar several times, shot him once or perhaps twice in the head and then casually drove away, court documents released Tuesday state.

The severe beating and the gunshots both contributed to his death, said one of the two declarations filed by Det. Ron Sanfilippo.

Yes, there were thousands in attendance to honor Officer Bonaminio. His mother’s eulogy was one of the most heartbreaking, bittersweet things I ever heard and saw. (They did live feed on the local NBC outlet.)

For people who don’t know, Ryan Bonaminio served two tours in Operation Iraq Freedom with the U.S. Army.

Upon conviction he will live out his life in ease and comfort at taxpayer expense. He will eventually be released and allowed to tour the talk show circuit explaining how the police officer shot himself. After five years Oprah shall declare him "brilliant" and help elect him senator from California in the place and stead of Boxer. He will eventually retire from the Senate on a full taxpayer funded pension. Eventually, covered with honors he will find "Gee-zuss," repent, die and go sit on the right hand of God,coming later to judge the quick and the dead. The police officer dying before he could fully repent of his sin, of spitting on the side walk, will roast in hell for all eternity. Such is perceived justice, in California, 2010 A.D.

Yes, after ten years on 'death row' he will have earned advanced graduate degrees and be considered someone 'worth saving'.

The police officer will long be forgotten.
