Mr. Olbermann--Sorry We Can't All Be As Perfect As You
Facebook ^ | Bristol Palin

Posted on 12/02/2010 2:44:17 PM PST by Josh Painter

Recently, a left wing commentator named Keith Olbermann attacked me for being a spokesperson for abstinence education and for being an Ambassador for the Candies Foundation, which promotes teen pregnancy awareness and prevention education. He went so far as to call me "the worst person" he knows, apparently, for my efforts to educate teenagers about the real world risks of premarital sex.

Accusing me of hypocrisy is by now, an old canard. What Mr. Olbermann lacks in originality he makes up for with insincere incredulity. Mr. Olbermann fails to understand that in order to have credibility as a spokesperson, it sometimes takes a person who has made mistakes. Parents warn their children about the mistakes they made so they are not repeated. Former gang members travel to schools to educate teenagers about the risks of gang life. Recovered addicts lecture to others about the risks of alcohol and drug abuse. And yes, a teen mother talks about the benefits of preventing teen pregnancy.

I have never claimed to be perfect. If that makes me the "worst person in the world" to Mr. Olbermann, then I must apologize for not being absolutely faultless like he undoubtedly must be.

To Mr. Olbermann let me say this: you can attack me all you want. But you will not stop me from getting my message out about teen pregnancy prevention. And one day, if you ever have a daughter, you may change your mind about me.

The hatred for this family is so unbelievable. I cant comprehend it. I feel the need to protect them (odd) but its disgusting. I heard on Joy Behar, that lesbian Margaret Cho said Sarah forced Bristol to dance because she (sarah) blamed Bristol for losing the election. REALLY.

I pray for this family.

It sucks. I dont think of Bristol as the greatest conservative mind but I dont doubt her core beliefs are rock solid. Don’t let jerks pick on you, you’ll be OK.

“This was a prepared statement.”

As an old Naval Gunfire Spotter if I was doing a fire for effect. I’d Prepar a Statement before I call in the fire misson. This seems what the young lady did.

I have no doubt she wrote it herself. She is a fairly smart young lady as near as I can tell.

SARAH PALIN'S PING LIST

*EXTRA* A wonderful article from The American Spectator that was posted but not pinged. Well worth reading in its entirety.

Is Sarah Palin Too Dumb to Be President?

This was a prepared statement.

No way! Say it ain't so!!

Is it even possible to make an off-the-cuff statement on facebook?

Agreed, she didn't write this and it will be used as ammo. Olbermann is an enormous hypocrite, prick and ego maniac, but that's nothing new and it's best to ignore him. She, and her mother, should rise above idiots like Olbermann. She'll be on his Worst List more now...read meat for his viewers.

HOWEVER, comparing getting pregnant out of wedlock as a teen to being a gang member, drug user and alcoholic isn't wise or logical. Further, her pitch to teens is flawed because she's traded on her pregnancy and been successful; rock videos, reality television, speaking fees. She's famous for two things; her mother and getting pregnant. How is that an effective message to teens?

“And one day, if you ever have a daughter,”

LOL! Olbermann is the poster boy for abstinence! Who would do it with him, other than another guy?

“I have no doubt she wrote it herself.”

I am glad that a few others on here detected the pomposity
of a few that assume that she is not smart enough to know “canard”.
While it is a word that I never use, my 70 year old brother
uses it most every day, in deciding how to spend the rest of his life.
He often uses it along with the phrase, “Is the F***ing your getting worth the F***ing your getting”.

"HOWEVER, comparing getting pregnant out of wedlock as a teen to being a gang member, drug user and alcoholic isn't wise or logical. "

But that proves that someone didn't write it for her. She probably spent a lot of time with a thesaurus but it is in her own words.

First time I ever saw that clown I honestly didn't know it was supposed to be a real news show. I thought it was just another weekly crime series from the imagination of Hollywood.

I thought it was a campy takeoff of “Network” and he was going to end up dead from what appeared to be suicide.

Then the worlds greatest detective, attorney, or whatever the idiots in Hollywood could dream up to solve crimes, would solve the crime based on a single piece of evidence everyone else overlooked and prove it was murder.

Possibly. Her argument is akin to Alex Rodriguez speaking out against the use of steroids. No one would listen to him.
