A Muslim imam who lectures on non-violence and advises the German government on interfaith issues has been arrested in Germany for beating up his wife. Sheikh Abu Adam, 40, is now on remand in Munich while his wife, 31, is being guarded by police. She was allegedly assaulted so badly that she suffered a broken nose and shoulder and numerous cuts and bruises.Media reports claimed the woman, who has borne one of his ten children, wanted to live a more 'western' lifestyle and was allegedly attacked after telling her husband.

It’s not considered violence to them. It’s considered a loving reprimand. They give lip service to only beating women “lightly”, but of course that is just ludicrous.

You know why Muslim women cover so much of their bodies? It’s not modesty; it’s to hide the bruises.

I am waiting for some Islam religious leader to actually do a show on how Muslims are pro-women.

They do say they are pro-women, and that women have many more rights and protections under Islam. The problem is the timeframe and location. Islam was a relative improvement for women -- in 7th Century Arabia. Unfortunately, they kind of stayed at that point while the rest of the world moved on.

I don’t think beating up a woman is considered violence by allah and mohamhead. I think it is just what allah and mohamhead want to happen. It is a good thing for muzzlems to do. Beating up women is religious worship. Stoning them is even holier.

I'm sorry, I thought this was commonly known -- Sharia allows a man to have up to 4 wives AT ONE time. And, he can freely divorce them by saying "talaq, talaq, talaq" (divorce, divorce, divorce) and get married to another wife. In Shia islam a man can have a contract marriage for 1 year, 1 week, 1 day.

in addition if you want non-Mozzie concubines, that's ok.

Of course, a woman can't have any of this reciprocally (no 4 husbands).
