Military slams door on mystery missile questions

The Department of Defense is slamming the door on questions about the mysterious contrail filmed Nov. 8 by a KCBS television crew near Los Angeles after questions were raised about a warning from the National Geo-Spatial Intelligence Agency that there could be missiles fired in that area at that time.

The official government position has been that the contrail, which appears to have been made by a single source, was from a jet passing by.

And the refusal to provide answers to specific questions suggests a cover-up of potential secret missile testing in the area – contrary to official jet contrail explanation.

For weeks, experts have examined the billowing plume and the single-source white-hot exhaust which they contend was from a missile, not a jet.

It was in Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin intelligence report where the story was broken that several experts who examined the video of the mysterious contrail confirmed it was not from a jet but a missile.

The experts who examined the video have had extensive experience working with missiles and computer security systems for various sensitive agencies of the U.S. government.

They even went so far as to suggest that the missile may have been shot from a submerged Chinese nuclear submarine, coinciding with an increasing level of confrontation between the United States and China and designed to send a message to Washington:

For only $99 a year, you too can also be an expert in conspiracy theories. Thanks for the spam.

“Are there no Patriots working for America in this administration?”

They are few and far between!

I see you’ve only been on FR five months or so — Troll.

And yes, there are no patriots in Obama’s administration, just lots of commie running dogs.

Why would the Pentagon spend any time at all dealing with conspiracy tripe?

Contrail my butt. Anyone who's seen the video can't possibly chalk it off to a conventional contrail of a commercial aircraft. I don't want to jump on the Chinese missile bandwagon, but whatever it was, it sure as hell wasn't a plane's contrail.

As far as I’m concerned they still haven’t solved the TWA 800 shoot down, in 96 when Klinton was facing another election.

that is exactly what an expert in the field said. He was X military and has seen hundreds of missiles fired. This is another cover up like flight 800

I worked at Vandenberg for seven years in he late 70s to 80s and routinely watched similar launches by Minutemen and special missiles. No plane can fly at such a steep angle for so long. When they closed Adak, that enable subs to travel down our coast without being detected. That is the benefit Democratic presidents give us.

Yeah, it was. Aircraft heading combined with wind shear gave the contrail its unusual appearance, but it was not unprecedented.

I know that I'm never going to change the minds of conspiracy theorists, but I at least have to try.

“Anyone who’s seen the video can’t possibly chalk it off to a conventional contrail of a commercial aircraft.”

I can. The experts quoted in this article are wrong. I love it when “experts” are wrong. They won’t admit it, because there is an “expert commentator” conspiracy that doesn’t allow them to admit they stepped on their cranks by claiming “certainty” of a contrail.

I don’t know why all these shills for “expert commentators” are jumping on these threads - I think that they are simply getting paid to cover up the truth.

Agreed. Plus, very few commercial jets (i.e., none) start leaving a contrail at the earth's surface and rise at such an angle as shown in the video. To me, this just points out the arrogance of the gov’t in thinking we're so dumb as to buy into the fluff they're trying to sell us.

The issue isn’t the contrail but the video. Without that one happenstance video we’d not be discussing this. There’s no indication that any of the millions of people in that area noticed anything unusual.

The contrail is nowhere near the Earth’s surface at any time, though. It’s just an optical illusion.

I imagine people are getting tired of explaining.

i remember reading about this incident in US magazine right after it happened. 3 week later it had recounted all of the data that was posted in the original article. To wit: no C-130 and P3 in the area, etc., etc.

Like I said, I don't want to point to a Chinese missile as some are want to do, but even in light of your evidence, I'm still having a hard time accepting this ex post argument. Also, given the heavy air traffic in the area, if atmospheric conditions are the cause, why aren't there other contrails that look similar to this one?

That is a very good point.

When we launched at Vandenberg and experienced the "Twilight Effect" we would get calls from as far away as Phoenix and Las Vegas where the phenomenon was visible.
