Two uranium mines in Wyoming are on their way to control by a Russian company now that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved transferring the mines' licenses
The commission last week approved the license transfer involving a Russian company, JSC Atomoredzoloto, or ARMZ, which expects to obtain a controlling interest in Canadian-owned Uranium One by year's end. Uranium One holds the licenses for a proposed in-situ uranium mine and an existing in-situ uranium mine in northeast Wyoming.

You just can’t make this crap up. LEFTIWNG nutjobs prevent us from developing nuclear energy—so we sell our path to energy independence to our enemies.
These jackasses are threatening the security of the United States.

Russia is not an enemydont be so upset. What makes you think so?
But, you believe we should give up our natural resources -- even radioactive raw materials -- to foreign powers which may seem to you, not to be an enemy at the moment?

The issue has very little to do with nuclear weapons securty and a lot to do with our own energy security.
The problem the US and Russia have is how to dispose of vast stockpiles of unneeded weapons grade materials.
Raw uranium out of a mine or even slightly enriched uranium for power reactor applications are not proliferation threats.
The simple problem is US competitiveness. What are we doing, not mining enriching and using our own uranium for our own power applications and to supply other countries who have the proper safeguards?
This is not a security issue. It is an economics issue.

We are too dumb (americans in general, liberals specifically) to realize that nuclear power is a great way to reduce our foreign energy dependance.
We should be harnessing the power of the atom instead of cowering in fear from it under our desks like children of the 1950’s during a duck and cover drill.

"The commission continues to prohibit exporting the uranium." And even if they export the uranium to Iran, they will be sure to send it back to us in a more refined state. /sarc Foreign investment in US energy companies has been around a long time:

WHY? On reason is that in order to survive the terrorism of Islam we need to ally with those who have been fighting islam for hundreds of years before us. We are at present weak, having been secularized and dumbed down to the point where we do not even know what and why we are fighting. Russia knows.
About the uranium mining-—apart from who controls this operation - Following your logic, the US should keep out of its own intrusions everywhere outside its borders.
Don't forget: signing off on the Dubai ports deal is far more dangerous to our internal security. Bush did that.

Using the bad actions of one president to excuse the actions of another isn’t really a good argument. It’s sorta like when you got in trouble when you were a kid and told your mom, “But he was doing it too!” The argument didn’t work on mom, either.
