I don’t understand why most people here hate this guy. He’s exposing the governments unsavory deeds and thus helping to shrink the government which is what most conservatives want, right?

Personally I hope at the very least this will teach the government to be a little more careful in protecting classified material. Hell if this guy got all of this information just imagine what kind of stuff other governments are extracting from classified servers across the fruited plain. I would also hope that this would get rid of some of the PC crap we’ve been feed about the “war on terrorism” but I kind of doubt that will happen.

You're being sarcastic, right? Either that, or you're a RonPaulbutt. If you don't like the U.S. of A., buddy, get out.

Have you ever met the snot-nosed Leftist humps who run the middle services at State? Their idea of "protecting classified material" would be to re-erect the Gorelick Wall.

I'd rather enjoy the Schadenfreudic glee of ASSange being shut down by a rogue Jester, and about to be really shut down by Interpol.

If he truly goes after banks he'll be begging the Swedes for protective custody within a week...

While I despise the guy's motives in doing so--bringing about suffering and embarrassment for the sake of his own ego--I tend to agree that he is exposing much of what needs to be brought to light and stopped cold.

On the other hand, it's funny to picture him sweating bullets as he realizes that the Spetsnaz may soon deliver his head to the Hague. Just the head.

He is hated because he hates America. We have systems in place for the release of information . All information need not be made available at all times. Who the hell is he to be the decider of all that? He needs to be eliminated along with the traitor(s) who fed him info.

“I don’t understand why most people here hate this guy.”

Partly it is because there is both good and bad about what he is doing. Depending on what he releases.

I personally have a tempered feeling about him. I see that he is doing some unjust harm, and I don’t like that. But I also see your argument which is also true much of the time, and it that regard he is doing a good thing.

Most people you have to understand are sheeple. They cannot weigh the good and the bad when it is being pounded in there ear that it is all bad. It was decided here by most to consider only the bad and to take this guy out without prejudice. Only those people can’t see they are empowering the all powerful big brother in the process. They are taking out there only chance to see through the veil of propaganda and protect there own freedom. And that is the power of sheepelism. One goes Bahhhh, and all the rest follow without thought.

What Wilkileaks really needed to do was to reform its policies so that it did not cross certain lines. That would have been a better debate to decide what those lines are instead of cutting off in full our only chance to see behind the curtain of Oz.

So welcome to “1984” or the “Brave New World”- or whatever you want to call it. In the end it is us who enabled it.

I doubt any of the unsavory shenanigans gleaned from the document dump represents significant news or intel to the involved nations.

Retaliation that affects innocent individuals and groups is my greatest concern.

Former military people understand that ‘what’ is leaked has future implications, and the names of those who gave us information is in some of the documents. It puts those foreign sources lives in danger, and prevents others from giving our operatives further information....information that might stop a terrorist attack.

Lives are at stake, and conversations that might offend those the US has taken years to establish dipolomatic relations with ....are in those documents, that are leaked, and probably far worse documents are available; and the Pentagon is holding it’s breath the wrong one isn’t leaked that could start a war!

So far most of it was suspected or at least known, that is except for the insults. And the HOPES of getting more Intelligence is damaged for some time. Who will trust a country who can’t protect it’s secrets from world publication. A terrorist plan might be missed now, because of Wikileaks, and our sources will be afraid to talk to our operatives around the world.

There is a good reason for security clearances and ‘a need to know’ basis, that far left liberal democrats have been ignoring the past few decades, or more. Fools.

If he had been whistle-blowing on something truly unsavory (Hillary plotting to invade Estonia to seize their sugar mines, etc.) there wouldn´t be much hate.

As it is, he dumps hundreds of thousands of documents that should be secret (according to law) regardless of the “size of government”, merely out of malice and misguided principle, in order to harm primarily the US.
