Assange is a sad naive little doofus. It's the job of diplomats to spy on the other side, to try to gain information that maybe the other side doesn't want them to have.

But I understand that Mr. Assange is about to mess with the Russians. The Russians don't have much use for sad naive little doofuses.

And a lot of this stuff isn’t even spying. It’s just reporting on what you’ve done, which is the essence of what the state department does. I met with so-and-so, and here’s what he thinks about this-and-that. The officials know their conversations are with the US government, they’re not under false pretenses.

What they DON’T expect is that they’re going to leak out in public.

The very fact that this little tid-bit has been leaked to the media, is a sure indicator that the Russians are already under this guy's bed.

I expect him to disappear without a trace in the coming days. The Russians? They won't know a thing about it.
