I get annoyed by such things. For one thing, the whole conflation of Reason with Atheism is synthetic. What they are basically saying is that anyone who is not an Atheist is not rational, and tit is implicit that Rationality and Atheism are both mutually inclusive. However, I’ve seen Atheist, even those who have taken to calling themselves Rationalists because of this deep connection between Atheism and Reason, say remarkably stupid things, or even buy into discredited claims. For example, that Jesus never existed at all. Nothing rational to that claim because even Atheistic Historians accept him as a Historical person.

Worse still, several brilliant men have written eloquent discourses on their beliefs who were not Atheistic. Men who can explain why they beleiv ein God, or why their Rel;igion makes snese. Reason is obviously not exclusive to Atheism. To claim all Religion is irrational and has no evidence is simply not Truth, and thus not rational.

Further, I always wondered hwy Atheists say they have no Religion when they obviously have a set of beliefs about the nature of our existence and an ontological and philosophical system of thought by which we understand it, that they want to proselytise others into and indoctrinate them in regards to. Religion is not merely about belief in God, and their beliefs really aren’t nonreligious.

But what really irritates me is how they have to attack Christians more than anyone else, and especially on Holidays. Does this seem Rational? Because to me, rather than Celebrating Reason, they are simply attacking someone else’s enjoyment of a Holiday.

This really is nothing but them showing out and trying to attack someone else for an Emotional need to feel superior, not because of Reason.

More simply,
if their brains are the result of random processes
that simply had some survival qualities,

how can they trust their “reason” to arrive at Truth?
