Sluggish consumer spending over the summer raised concerns that Americans were finally reining in their purchases amid high unemployment and other head winds. But spending has picked up in recent months, and leading U.S. consumer-related stocks are near the top of the IBD 100 list of superior companies based on fundamentals and technicals.
A word of warning: Many of these stocks have been so hot
