Grew up at Sheppard AFB after the Vietnam War. Missed the entire “60’s experience” being overseas with my parents, and to have returned to the US to any less conservative town would have been insane. My dad had the good sense to request Wichita Falls rather than a CA or MA base.

Great training for medical fields here, took great care of my parents until they passed.

Me too at Sheppard...from 1966-1970 (5th-8th grades). Very good, fond memories of our time there.

"Grew up at Sheppard AFB"

I was stationed at Sheppard (1968-71, 3760th Instructor Squadron). Being from the Midwest, I loved the winters in TX. My young bride & I rented a one bdroom @ 1415 15th St (between Holiday & Broad). I checked google map the other day & while 15th St still seems to exist, the houses are all gone.

I still have lots of memories from there, going to camping @ the Wichita Mountains near Lawton OK, driving to Dallas & many more. I still have the same wife & the 1969 Chevelle & bought @ Mathis Chevy (see my about page).

Do you still live in Wichita Falls?
