“You’ll need a prescription to get your vitamins.”

Worse! There won’t be any. The health food supplement makers will be hit with huge regulatory demands that will put them out of business.

The guy being put in charge of this is from Monsanto — the GMO seed company. They aren’t going to allow “natural health” ANYTHING.

Say goodbye to your vitamins and your organic vegetables!

Is this S. 510, the bill that essentially makes it illegal to grow your own food on your own property or to store seeds without the consent of the government? The same bill that would also allow the President or the Secretary of Homeland Security to unilaterally seize and control all food and Farmland in the US in the event that they unilaterally declare an emergency. The same bill that also gives effective control over US food policy to the World Trade Organization? Sounds like a huge loss of US sovereignty. The same bill that defines bringing food into commerce as smuggling and more.

Isn't this bill just the kind of legislation needed to impose a police state in the US? If this bill is S.510 it's treason that any senators at all would be supporting it.

Speaking of Food Bill, I noticed recently that all the eggs I buy have an expiration date stamped on them.

Not the box - each individual egg.

I wonder whose bright idea this was?

Stamping each individual egg seems silly in the extreme.

This bill is ominous.

Yes. It simply inserts a government middle man between the producers and consumers -good bye free market value determination... -hello monopolies, corruption, and central planning by bureaucrats with wide "policy" latitude with yet again the adoption of a socialist model unlimited by specifics and destined for epic failure as historically has always been the case... They want to do with food what they have already done with medicine and health care. IDIOTS!

So did ethanol, “free trade”, sustainable development/smart growth.

So who in America is listening? Not your local politicians they are paid to travel to ICLEI conferences on destroying free society, and not your federal and state government because they under the influence of foreign governments and transnational corporations.

Good luck!

I think the FDA needs to better regulate cannibalism. With the economy the way it is, they need to stay ahead of the curve.

There are gonna be many really pissed-off small farmers in my neck of the woods.

Pissed off no doubt, but what can we do? Noncompliance means 10 years in prison and forfeiture of the family farm. They want us (clingers) off the land and will feed the people with factory farms with no one living on the LAND that controls the roads, power lines, rail, piped or channelled water, etc., They (the blues) want rural cleansing of reds to control the land and food. they know how to read the electoral map.

Mark Kirk got to vote on his very first bill today! He proudly voted YES on S. 510, Senator Dick Durbin’s so-called “Food Safety Modernization Act”, a massive piece of federal red-tape. It passed by 57 votes. Lisa Murkowski, Snowe, Collins, and Kirk are among the few GOP “yes” votes.

The Sun-Times noted: ‘In a bi-partisan move, Chicago mayoral hopeful Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.), at the Kirk reception, invited the new junior senator to his West Side Chicago district for a town hall meeting. “Congratulaitons on a great victory. I know you are going to be good for the people of Illinois,” Davis told Kirk.’

Congrats to all the freepers who demanded Mark Kirk get “seated immediately”, you got your wish.

It’s about amassing power in the hands of a few liberal Democrats.

If they have to starve us, take our freedoms, whatever, then so be it.
