I am not sure setting goals for marriage is shallow.
Some people want beauty and some people want money.
I know many people who chose a comfortable life because their life goals included it. I know whole families whose lchildren both male and female,married wealthy people. Why? Parents taught the children that there is more to a marriage than love. Shared values, faith and financial security figure in.
Whoa! You and I are not on the same page at all! There is more to people than their physical appearance and their bank account. I would hope that people look a little deeper than that but some don’t. I just don’t think seeking a beautiful mate or a rich one, is something to set as a goal for yourself or your children.
