Building a carrier is one thing. Sending a carrier battle group to any spot on the globe while replenishing it weekly with fuel, ordnance, spare parts and fresh provisions is a whole different ballgame --a ballgame the USN excels at.
Not saying the Chinese can't get there but they've got a long way to go.

the Russian "Blue Navy" had the same problem, until they got oversea bases
and now...ChiComs have the Panama Canal, Long Beach, CA and soon many
more S. American ports.....and they can leverage (protect) their gains via their
control of the USA debt market.
