It didn't say WHY these two boys were expelled.

Trust me, private schools do allow for boys to be boys. It takes allot to EXPELL kids in first grade (six years old). I made a mistake before and stated it was kindergarten for six year olds.

The private school we use gives them Warnings (3) and that includes a note home to the parents for each warning. Prior to the formal note home, they are verbally warned a few times. After the third warning a parent, teacher and principle conference is called. Next come the demerits which include a parent, teacher, and Principal, headmaster or Superintend and sometimes a Chancellor conference on how to remedy the situation. This will depend on the chain of command and their rules. If that doesn't work after a certain amount of time, the kids are expelled.

I don't know how many demerits are needed before you are expelled from her school but you typically need allot. I couldn't tell you for sure about ours since we didn't' have this issue. It varies by school on what the amount of demerits are for each infraction and how they are worked off. At our school for each month of no warnings and demerits you loose a certain amount of demerits. I didn't have these issues so I'm giving you general guidelines.

As a parent, I WANT kids to behave. One of the reasons parents private school their kids or even home school them is to avoid bad behavior as well as better academics. Just last month, a kid in my daughter's middle school class got caught using the “F” word. He got suspended for three days and 0's for any homework or tests.. I was glad. We do NOT want that kind of language at school. I was pleased to see them enforce their rules. I have no problem with this. There is no reason for a middle schooler or in Kate's situation a younger kid using foul language.

I work in a private school and I was going to say something similar but you said it far better than I.

I have a feeling some of the Gosselin kids have learning differences due to birth and or home difficulties. These kids may do better in a learning environment that is better suited for learning differences.
