THE Russian parliament agreed in principle a declaration that Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin personally ordered the Katyn massacre of Polish officers in World War II.
The lower house, the State Duma, agreed a text that breaks several years of official reluctance to admit that Stalin and the Soviet leadership ordered the killing of thousands of Polish officers in 1940.

Now, about those 50 million or so Russian citizens Stalin killed.....
Bizarre.. I was just reading about this..

Now to investigate what really happened to the President of Poland and the planeload of Polish dignitaries making a memorial (and thus embarrassing to Russia) visit to Katyn.

I thought Gorbachev had already admitted this like 15 years ago...
He did, but it was under the U.S.S.R. and now Russia does it as a seperate entity.
Russia IS the successor state to the Soviet Union. It doesn’t have to take responsibility for Soviet crimes but in a way its making atonement and closing the books on the past.
Maybe by 2017 the Russkies will admit they murdered the Romanovs? That would make it 100 years to finally admitting the truth (Pravda)...
I see; thanks.
We never hear of Stalin’s atrocities from Democrats. Notice that?
I guess the fact that Nicholas II and his family were murdered by bolsheviks was admitted by "Russkies" many years ago. At least I don't remember it was ever denied by anyone.

I was being sarcastic. The Communists never officially commented on their murders providing details about who gave the order (Lenin) and what actually happened like the old “did Anastasia survive” controversy. Yes, it was known that they purged the royal family but many of the particulars were not released until after 1989.
