Last week, Staff Sgt. Salvatore Giunta became the first living service member from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars to receive the Medal of Honor, the country's top military award.
But like most of the brave men and women who serve, Giunta knows he wasn't out there fighting for medals or recognition, and he accepted the award with admirable humility and heartfelt acknowledgment of those who have died in battle.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Giunta got a hug, not a military salute, from President Obama. As a blog post on the website of Stars and Stripes, a military publication, pointed out, it would have been appropriate - though not necessary - for Obama to salute Giunta. It referenced a previous Medal of Honor recipient who had been saluted by George W. Bush.
Some on the right, though, were deeply upset...

That aside, the article wasn't horrible. It made some good points, but it puts too much blame on the protocol officer and not enough on the clown who hasn't fired the protocol officer after repeated gaffs.
Obama should beg Ollie North to come and help him out.
My problem is not that he is fundamentally ignorant of military protocol (I’d probably score no better than 50% on a protocol test), but that he doesn’t even bother to consult the military before hand to find out what the correct protocol is.
Nobody knows everything, but those who care, learn what they need to know when they are required to.
Bambi thinks he knows everything and so doesn’t ever bother learning anything new.
Well if you ever see Obama Salute when he gets off the Helicopter or Air Force One you would understand why he did not Salute. He must Have been instructed By the Ballerina on that, he looks like a Fool
I'd disagree. It's not just military custom that Zero is especially clueless about.
He might as well have arrived from Mars a few years ago. The only thing he seems not completely clueless about is reading a teleprompter.
Obamba is not naturally a warm person as far as I can tell.
A hug to him (Obabma) was probably a stronger gesture.
But then again what do I know? Not much.
No, it proves that the American voter should study more, as it was the ignorant American voter who elected an ignorant, inexperienced foreigner as President of the United States.
It seems that whether or not he is unpatriotic is not necessarily related to his knowledge of military custom. The destruction he is attempting at all levels guarantees that he is unpatriotic.
He gets the ignorance from his mother’s side.
He gets the Commie-IslamoNazism from his father’s side.
It's incredible that idiots still say this clown is just ignorant when even a Forest Gump moron would realize that he is everything you say and more. Obama could not be this stupid, he is trying to do as much damage as he can before we try him for treason.
SOME Americans have been dumbed down beyond belief.
Remember his sppech when he said corpseman? I think he’s ignorant and unpatriotic.
I noticed that Obama didn’t bow.
What a fool.

In the Japanese culture, the person of lower social status bows more deeply. Obama practically kissed shoes in Japan.

His puppetmasters finally told him to tone it down a bit...

Ignorant is the wrong word. I’d say he’s dismissive of the military and its traditions, and harbors a deep distrust of them. He views the U.S. Military as the world enforcer of democracy, something he personally despises.
There’s no doubt in my mind that, given the chance, he would love to remake that very same institution into an enforcement tool of socialism here at home and abroad.
A mistake is when you do it ONCE, maybe TWICE. When you do it a THIRD time, it is disturbing. By the FOURTH or FIFTH time, it is dumb. But when it is done OVER and OVER, it becomes deliberate and obstinate.
We are now in the stage of “Don’t tell me what to do, I HOPE to CHANGE all the rules. Don’t like it, I won.”.
BTW I have had the extreme pleasure of meeting a half dozen or so MOH recipients. The first was Audie Murphy when I was about 9 years old. I saluted him FIRST as my mother had told me was the custom. He came to full attention and saluted me back and then shook my hand and thanked me for coming out that day to see him I will never forget that moment. It was a few months later when he died. I was devastated.
I met Jimmy Dolittle at his home about a year before he died. I saluted him and he saluted back and then said “That wasn't necessary son, I haven't been in the service for a long time.” I replied, “Yes sir, it was and it was my pleasure.”
Bull Sh*t. The article is horrible.
Did you read it?
S. E. Cupp claims to be a conservative.
Bull Sh*t, she went on to apologize for every anti-American apology Obama has ever made.
She’s not a conservative. She’s a liar. And she chooses to completely ignore all of Obama’s policy decisions involving American defense in order to write the lies that she writes.
She even quotes some of the anti-Americanisms in his speeches and then quickly adds that “it’s complicated”. He doesn’t mean what “you rightists” (unlike S. E. Cupp, the “conservative”) think he means.
Bull Sh*t.
She is Bull Sh*t and so is this piece.

Oh, man. I am envious. You met the great men, Jimmy Doolittle and Audi Murphy. You have had a very blessed life.
