Lineups at airports throughout the U.S. are moving smoothly in spite of calls for passengers to protest intrusive security measures by insisting on time-consuming pat-downs instead of full-body scans.
The day before U.S. Thanksgiving is the busiest of the year for air travel in the country, and major delays were expected. But the U.S. Transportation Safety Administration said very few passengers were opting out of the scans, and there were only a few scattered protesters at some airports.

Regrets at being the bearer of bad news...

Like I believe anything CBasS reports...
We’ll see what the numbers are next week. My bet is that they are down significantly.
Color me prejudiced on the subject, but I don’t think folks want to be radiated OR felt up prior to boarding a flight.

This “story” was written and coordinated through the Imperial Government last week. They just put today's time stamp on it.

but I dont think folks want to be radiated OR felt up prior to boarding a flight. They will get more radiation from the flight itself than from the scanner.

FNC is reporting the same.

IF this article from CBC is correct, this won't help in reversing the direction of the TSA one bit.

What bad news? If someone had to actually go somewhere it’s pretty good news.

Did the TSA call up every employee for today to make sure that the grope lines were kept to a minimum?

Protests only in Nevada where the bordello workers union is picketing the airports. They claim that TSA is allowing non union employees to do union work

Yes, that does conform to the press release. Do you have any other sources?

I dont think anything will change unless/until we can get the airlines to push back against TSA/Congress.
If customer decisions effect their bottom line, they will take notice and respond accordingly. (or I could be wrong and they will just lobby for another bailout to make up the difference)
Seems when business and goobermint are in cahoots, we lose either way. Maybe if airlines received a bunch of cut up frequent flier cards in the mail from former patrons...
And neither today or tommorow are the busiest travel day of the year:
“Actually, the summertime is worse. There are about five to 10 days during the summer that are busier than Thanksgiving,” AAA national spokesman Troy Green says.

If a protest is planned, that would be the best time for it.

Good. Maybe now talk radio and Fox News can drop this silly distraction and get back to a few important issues — how to repeal Obamascare, how to deal with Iran and North Korea, how to thwart terrorism, how to lower taxes and how to rein in runaway government spending.

As much as most of us dislike the new security regime, it’s frankly a terrible time to try and organize a protest.
Most people are just thinking about getting home to their families. The fact that they willingly fly on TG weekend shows that they are willing to put up with almost anything to do it.
To: DoughtyOne
When you consider that most of these people pre/advanced purchased their tickets, a normal amount of people flying is not surprising. No refunds.
The correct question is: how many cancellations, with or without a refund, were granted this year compared to years past?
The next question is how this will effect Christmas travel.
