President Obama is "outraged" by North Korea's attack on a South Korean island, White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton said Tuesday.
Obama plans to call South Korea's president, Lee Myung-bak, on Tuesday, Burton said, adding that Tom Donilon, his national security adviser, called Obama at 3:55 a.m. to tell him of the attack.
"The president is outraged by this action," he told reporters on Air Force One. "We stand shoulder to shoulder with South Korea."

WRONG!!! Obama instructs Gibbs to issue an apology!!!
I was saying this all day on the threads yesterday but my dad brought up a good point. He said, "If Hillary was President we wouldn't have won 60+ seats."
He sure is right about that one. I am ecstatic that the wicked witch of San Fransicko has to fly commercial!!! No more military jets for you Nancy!!!
Lee could not be reached for comment.
How long until Obama apologizes to the North for making them angry enough to be forced to attack the South?
So, an Army is typically 2-3 divisions. What do we do, platoon divisions with one on duty for a tour while the other stands down?
You’re right about dat. Because even if we elect George Freaking Washington next time around, our reputation as cut-and-run, tail-between-our-legs, heads-in-the-sand, fair-weather-friend loooosers who are always CAPABLE of doing something SUPREMELY stoopid like turning around and electing someone like this @ssclown is firmly cemented in the minds of movers and shakirs and fakirs around the world.
I think it has changed over time. An "army" today, I don't believe is quite that large.
With respect to your other question, I'm not sure what you mean. Are you asking, "How do we extricate ourselves from South Korea?"
I don't know. It seems that, because of a variety of reasons, we're stuck there in perpetuity, costing US taxpayers billions each year, while SK restricts our access to their markets. That hardly seems logical or smart. But, I'm not sure what the resolution is. It's a mess.
I agree. It’s too bad that things had to get this bad before the general population woke up and pushed back, but that’s the reality. There’s always that 10-15% of the population that will believe anything and they see no bias in the media, they just take the daily news at face value and question nothing. Since they only get one point of view, they think what MSNBC tell them to. This is the 10-15% that needed a hardcore reality-check, something so bad that the media cannot cover it up. It’s here in the form of Barack Hussein.
If Hillary were in, we’d still be on a diet of slow watered-down socialism. The general population needed the straight shot of socialist whiskey to wake up, gag, and decide that this isn’t the way to go.
that Hans Brix always busting my balls.
No, I just wondered if one division of the 8th Army rotates home while the other division rotates in, or if they just stay there for their whole tour of duty. That seemed like it would explain why it’s an “army” with only something over a division’s worth of personnel on hand.
I know that our Army today uses the brigade style of organization rather than a divisional organization, but I don’t know if that is in play here.
No, the Eighth Army is permanently domiciled there, just like the 3rd MarDiv is permanently domiciled in Oki.
Yo..Leeeee....wasup???
Isnt that the praise, standing shoulder to shoulder, that one gets right before, “They have my full confidence.”
With the first quote you start looking at the employment ads. With the second you go out and buy moving boxes.
The ROK must looking for a good realtor right now.
“...at which hed be totally inept for lack of practice?”
It’s not lack of practice - he’s just inept period.
" I feel your pain Lee as well as all 57 united states. Moochell sends her love and wants to know if our vacation to South Korea is still on? Want to try your ice cream. Shabubba."
Who is the head of the “Strongly Worded Letter” Department?
I thought this was going to be a Civil War sarcasm thread. I could see 0 calling Robert E. Lee to apologize for something Grant or Sherman was doing.
That is really funny.
“outraged”? general outrage? personal outrage? hmmmm..don’t think so....
HE’S SCARED that what he is that little pos wimp
Obama is furious that North Korea is somewhat hurting his image right now. He’ll feel fine when the news moves to a different subject. What a relief.
