The difference is money. Our area has had a stable housing market because a lot of Chinese are moving in, cash for the house, Mercedes, Lexus everywhere, usually grandma grandpa a beautiful daughter and child and no dad(we have three sets on our street alone like this). They are selling the farm, and retiring with their grandchild the new American citizen. I am not clear why if they can buy a home and support themselves and they do it legally, why it would be a problem.

One way they can afford it is that we, and not them, are providing for grandma and grandpa. When they arrive here, sponsored in by their relatives who promised to be responsible for them financially, they are immediately signing up for SSI, which is Social Security benefits for people who never payed into the system. It was intended for the disabled and others who never able to work. We are providing retirement benefits to the elderly of numerous countries. There are magazines and newsletters in China, Taiwan, and other Asian countries devoted entirely to explaining how to take advantage of the benefits provided by the US, with SSI being one of their favorites.
