After reading your response, one thing is certain. I share your views when it comes to unions. Especially public service unions. All unions have outlived their usefulness. Today and for years past they have been nothing more than extortionists gangs run by criminals.
Everything you say about mid-terms, gerry-mandering, etc, is accurate. I am very much involved in the local Tea Party. We, as well as people all over this country, did not relax when we decimated the Democrats in local elections. We are choosing individual members to select one elected official, state and federal, to monitor.
Every Bill brought forward by these people will be scrutinized from inception and through every step in the process. We will be asking these politicians questions about co-sponsors and the rationale involved in bringing the Bill.
As far as cities are concerned, most of them are cesspools run by Democratic Party, corrupt, incompetent political hacks. I spent my life in Philadelphia. Ed Rendell, former DA and Mayor of Philadelphia termed out and the next Governor is Republican.
The state legislature has always been a counter weight to sleazy Democratic Mayors in Philadelphia, especially when it comes to gun control legislation. There are lots of Blue Dog Democrats in Penna. when you get away from the cities. I think that many of them have returned to the Republican Party.
It sounds as though you believe that there is nothing that can be done to stop illegals from voting. Can you document that? Of course there is voter fraud, but I am not willing to conclude that things are hopeless and nothing can’t be corrected. If I believed that I wouldn’t be working as hard as I can to change it.
Of course you are free to do whatever you choose. It would really be sad though if a person as politically savvy as you conceded the field to that bunch of criminals in the cities.
The mecca of the Democrat cesspools is Cleveland, which is in the county. This county cannot get rid of Democrats (such as Kookcinich), and other Left-Wing radicals, and in fact, it was the cities' voters (the cesspools) that made the difference in getting Sherrod "The Socialist" Brown as one of our Senators. Likewise, unless you live in a County that is rural or suburban without a major metro area, you are stuck with Democrats because the cities will be voting 95% Democrat, as they live off others in their decaying ratholes.
The GOOD news is that Ohio is nearing a tipping point, however, where it can go Red because Autos/Manufacturing have shut down, essentially. All those Union voters are now either unemployed Democrats, or moving to find a job elsewhere. The UAW, AFL-CIO, USW have all suffered major losses of membership, but now the AFSCME, SEIU, and NEA Unions are supplanting them. It's the GOVERNMENT UNION EMPLOYEES who live off others' earnings now, for the most part, as other Union Membership is at rock-bottom. The bailouts to the Unions are legendary in the GM/Chrysler, and also in the Teachers and State Workers/City Workers taxpayer fund diversion to keep Union workers on the dole.
I firmly believe that the removal of Unions from the public sector is paramount, although I fear it's too late now. The Socialist Workers' Party is essentially what we have now, with all the "public" Union members....and they out-vote the Flyover Country voters regularly in numbers, AND, they promote their Agenda using taxpayer dollars (that's their income source, and Legislation to keep them fat and happy is always approved by the politicians who need them voting for their re-election).
As far as Illegals goes, Kalifornia is now a suburb for Mexicans, and most of the Southwest is over-run with them, too, as their wages are lower and businesses depend on that cheap labor. I would NEVER knowingly hire an Illegal or a contractor who employs illegals, but if you want to bid on a Federal Government Contract, you have to meet THEIR criteria (diversity, et cetera, and Union Labor).
I do my best to be involved in Tea Party efforts, but it sure seems like we're shoveling S&*t against the tide....
