A dispatcher with FAA air operations tells KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that the agency has "preliminary word" of an aircraft sliding off the runway at Sea-Tac. Officials don't know what kind of plane, or which runway or airline.

Hope everyone’s ok.
Ya...it’s nasty. Been snowing all day.
When you’re at Sea on a sailboat you either reach, run or Tac.
I wonder how much time is spent looking up time saving abbreviations? :-)
TSA tried to touch the pilots stuff?
ALREADY POSTED !!!!!
Link should work, works for me.
Local news here is reporting that the plane is a 747 and has caused a complete ground stop at Seatac. They have at least a foot of snow on the ground and the runway is very icy in blowing snow. Nasty night.
Fortunately the Artic ice is all gone (per Algore) so you won't be in danger of hitting an iceburg with your sailboat out at sea.
Where’s the link?
I can see Sea-Tac tower from my living room... most of the time. It is snowing so hard here that I can’t see across the4 street.
Chinese airline?
Well, maybe...
If you see a Chinese 747 let us know.
Seriously, prayers that all are OK.
Cargo:
A 747 cargo plane slid off the runway at SeaTac Airport Monday afternoon in snow and freezing weather.
Mike Fergus, spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration in Seattle, said Flight 5321, operated by Dynasty Air/ Ocean Freight Company, lost control on landing.
He was unaware of any injuries

Haven’t heard of any injuries.
People who don’t know about Seattle... There are very few flat spots. Hills everywhere, and we do not normally get much snow. When an inch of white stuff hits, everybody panics. It is now 26 deg. and it has snowed all day. There is ice everywhere, and ice and hills make for lots of fun.
WA ping.
Not long after China seized our P-3 in '01, I was working mid-shift at Jacksonville ARTCC (enroute air traffic).
An Air China cargo B-747 was enroute from Anchorage to Miami, unusual, we very seldom saw them.
He checked on - "Jax, Dynasty442 is with you at 410."
I replied - "Dynasty442, Roger - we want our airplane back."
A long pause, then -"Say again Jax."
I repeated - "Dynasty442, Roger - We want our damned airplane back."
Another long pause, then laughing and "Oh no, Jax, we're the good China."
Turns out it was US pilots flying for Air China out of Taipei.
So you’ve never heard of Seatac...have you, per chance, heard of Google?
Air China = Bad (commie) China
China Air = Good (reasonably democratic) China (Taiwan)
I’ve lived in the Seattle area for 32 years and I can attest that a kind of madness overcomes all native and Cali immigrant drivers at the first sign of a flake. There is carnage on every road and street tonight. Invest in body shop stock!
They said on the news that this is the first time any airliner has skidded off of a SEA runway. Hard to believe with all the rain but I guess that’s what grooved runways are for.
Say WA? Evergreen State ping
