NR jumped the shark a long time ago.

But a lot of conservatives are not eager for a Palin candidacy. Just a fact. Maybe she could win them over, maybe not.

And resigning the governorship was unhelpful if the goal was to build Palin's case for the presidency - at least according to conventional political thought. Defying convention is possible, but it's not lot of fun playing against a stacked deck.

“But a lot of conservatives are not eager for a Palin candidacy”

I don’t know any.... Not even one true conservative.
I know some Mitt bots, but again, no true conservatives that are not eager for Palin to run...

Let me offer a slightly different perspective. I am an admirer of Palin, and would happily support her if she ran for the WH. But I don't think she's gonna run. Here's why. Sarah is highly intelligent, and also, a realist. She could probably get the GOP nomination without too much difficulty. The path is laid out for her. However, as Rasmussen and others have said, she has next to no support among independeents..the MSM has successfully poisoned her image, and without indie support..the general election is not winnable.

So, what's the lady to do? Well, now..just about whatever she wants. Has fun doing it, making a ton of $$$$..good for her..and has the freedom to say and do anything. She was a very successful force in the midterm election, and she very much wants to see a conservative GOP victorious in 2012. She recognizes the need to get Dude out fo the WH. So she can to a large extent, "shape" the early part of the GOP nomination process. There are now some 10-14 candidates..some serious, some pretenders, a few just posturing. I agree that the primary process/season is waay to long..therefore we need to get some of these people out of the game early. She can do that..just by hinting that she's contemplating a run...and take most of the oxygen and $$$ away. And then, towards the end of the year, she'll announce that she's not running, and endorse whom she chooses, and that willpretty much rap it up. And she'll be a huge fund raiser for theticket, and campaign tirelessly. And after, well, I'd love to see her in a Cabinet position, maybe Interior Secretary, where she can focus on ending the piles of restrictions on the use of federal lands, open up exploration and drillind in the continental states, and even start to sell off, and/or return to the states, the land what the feds have been grabbing for decades.

Defying conventional political thought has been Palin's strong suit throughout her career. It's why I admire her so much, she isn't like the typical politicians who have systematically ruined our country. Resigning the governorship was a stroke of genius.

Sorry I dont deal with strawman arguments I leave that to the libs and Obama.

Conservatives are for limited government and reversing all this overreach by government so to say they dont support her is foolish.
