Use your eyes people. And your brains. Take a look at the difference between aircraft contrails (vapor trails) and rocket plumes.

Notice that both Wiki and the EPA say that contrails generally occur at 26,000 feet or higher. Contrails do not start off at ground level and continue vertically from there.

Anybody here besides myself see the difference?

No matter who fired an SLBM off the coast of L.A., it has extremely serious implications for the national security of the U.S. Either Obama's military is so incompetent that they accidentally fired an SLBM off the coast of L.A., or our enemies are so emboldened by a pathetically weak President that they dare intimidate us by such a naked display of power off our coasts.

Just as bad, our press is either indifferent to the implications to our national security or they are complicit in the cover-up.

Contrails do not start off at ground level and continue vertically from there.

But they APPEAR that way, from the point of view that this was taken. And they appear that way to any observer with an unobstructed view of the horizon, seeing a high altitude aircraft coming from OVER the horizon on a path towards the observer.

I see the same thing here in the midwest, when I am outside and in a very elevated position, especially in the evening when the Sun turns the sky so many different and beautiful colors.

The newest forms of passenger jet aircraft produce even more anomalous contrails, which confuse the uninformed. The more modern contrails are further identifiable by a blinding flash of light and hurricane to gale force winds accompanying them towards the end of their flight pattern.

These will soon be everyday occurrences and shouldn’t be questioned by the populous observers as it will only induce wild speculation on the veracity of national security policy.

Agree. Live in L.A. seen thousands of aircraft contrails and probably about a dozen missile shots out of Vandenberg AFB. Yeah, and the angle of the missile contrails does look a little funny.
1) I’ve never seen a plane contrail that was hugely wide on the bottom and narrow on top — doesn’t mean it couldn’t just never seen it happen.
2) the pattern of the CBS contrail matched what I’ve seen from Vandenberg AFB.
3) The language coming from the military and Norad types sounded just a little too parsed, followed by a goofy “it was a plane explanation”.
