Sliding silently under the mud, muck and fog of national politics, is a current event that makes Bill Clintons excursion into the world of elderly sex look tame in comparison. This time the nations national security is truly threatened in my opinion, and it involves not only a weak president with limited problem-solving ability, but leadership at the highest levels in the Pentagon as well. The American people would do well to demand a full investigation by an unbiased group, and let the chips fall where they may.
I am referring to the missile shot taken off the California coast recently, and the lame response by NORAD, the Pentagon and the White House itself.
(snip)
In my opinion, there is absolutely no doubt that what was captured on video off the coast of California was a missile launch, was clearly observed by NORAD, assessed by a four-star general within minutes, and passed to the president immediately. That is the way the system works, and heads fall if there is a failure. This is one of the most important tenets of national defense and its sole purpose of protecting the American people. Even the smallest failure in this system gets intense scrutiny at the highest level.
Now, the question that still must be answered is why NORADs muted response was simply that North America was not threatened, and later our government approved the lame excuse that the picture recorded was simply an aircraft leaving a contrail. This decision was made far above the four-star level, and because the system in place demands it, was made by the president himself.

Of COURSE it was a missile launch. Anyone who knows anything about these matters can see the consistent symmetric turns in the contrail that scream “spin stabilized missile.” A plane simply cannot make those.
Amazed that so few can see/understand this...

I love these missile threads! Let the flaming begin! They’re almost as much fun as a Palin thread.

I think that’s part of the problem. Not many people do know a lot about these matters.

They may go on forever. Hey, maybe there is a market here. Caps that say, It was a Missile Stupid. Caps that say, It was a Plane Stupid. We need to get MythBusters on this one. Obama is going on the actual program from what I here. He can defend his position that its was a plane.

I think that would be bpttt. ;^)

I was kind of hoping this man would get a little more respect than others have ... but that may be asking a lot. :-)

The beauty of it all is that a dink with a camera can comprimise a military satellite unit that cost a little more than a toaster.
It was a GPS unit most likely, as most of our birds up there are dying.
I eagerly await the helpful turd that posts is coordinates, so I can lok in my telescope and watch the chinese blow it out of its orbit.
Keep up the good work.

Anyone who read the article, I wonder if you also read the first comment. This person is truly a democrat/liberal. He slammed the general’s comments and observations as being just a kook who has worn a bunch of stars on his collar.
Seeing all the general’s experience in the military is good enough for me. I'm no expert, but when I watched the video of the missile launch, I was convinced it was an ACTUAL missile. The news helicopter with a camera was in the wrong place and the wrong time, as far as our government's leadership is concerned. But the helicopter was in the perfect place at the perfect time for the people that launched the missile and I don't think that was by chance. Launching a missile is no small feat, even for a rogue submarine captain and crew.
I totally agree with the general in saying we, as Americans, need to rise up and demand from the Obama regime the truth of what it was. We are waking up in this country, at least 70% of us are. The other 30% has it's head so far up the new president's butt, it's a wonder they can even breathe. Where is the news media with a story that could get them awards?? What did or didn't NORAD do with the information?? Why is Obama keeping this information away from us and endangering our very existence?? Does our president want us to be in danger as Israel is from their neighbors?? At least Israel is smart enough not to take ‘orders’ from Obama and safe guard their homeland.
Finally, we need to stand up and defend what is great and ours. We need to tell the people who are supposed to be representing us what “WE” want “THEM” to do and the not the other way around.
God Bless Our Country, Our People and Our Safety.

A plane simply cannot make those. Amazed that so few can see/understand this... I have NO clue, meaning the whole episode makes no logical sense to me... I am no expert so I can add nothing to either claim of plane versus missile...
Two things strike me though as curious... why single out the Chinese as source of a missile launch, and why the plane proponents use the same rationale for claiming it was left by a plane because CBS won't release the whole footage...
The plane advocates also use the same rationale of protecting 'gravitas' because to do otherwise would make one a kook/conspiracy theorists of the same profile they consider the 'birthers'....
At this point I have far more questions than answers.

Well, sure! Look how much longer the Air Force has been around. ;^)

Frankly, I agree with you about tagging this on China. No evidence I can see for that.
It was a missile. That I’m 100% sure about. Whose? No idea.
