Democrats got the lowest share of the white vote in this midterm election than in any congressional election since World War II, losing key races in Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Michigan, and every contested election in Ohio, which spells trouble for President Obamas reelection. No Democrat can win the White House without these Midwestern swing states, and they are all decimated by job losses that Obama has offered no road map to recover.Soul-searching is under way at the White House, but so far it looks pretty sterile.

Democrats aren’
t worried about the white vote. They have the Hispanics /s/
What about all those hispanics with cellphone, elenoooooor ?

"Watch me pull a quarter outta my ear!"
Look who's talking...
Clift, you and your colleagues in the state-run media are part of the problem!
More of this "smart voters vote their class interests, and those interests are economic" Marxism Lite garbage. Clift is too dumb and too old to learn any better.
It's demonstrably wrong. Voters, especially parents, also vote the perceived interests of their children, and will sacrifice their present self-interest in the latter's regard. Voters will also make personal sacrifice to vote the perceived interest of their country. They'll do more than that, they'll lay down their lives. Those - we - aren't voters for whom Clift has any respect, nor is it likely that she'll ever understand.
Figured this out on the night of the election.Ohio cinched it and Michigan was the icing on the cake.No reelection for the marxist. He will now try to ram all kinds of shit down the throat of Americans in all “50” states.
Heh, this week’s Time Magazine is repeating the nonsense that the Democrats lost because they were too nice to Republicans.
Because as we all know, Nancy Pelosi was so compromising and bipartisan when she said “I hammer in the morning, I hammer in the evening, I hammer all day.” And refusing to hear any Republican suggestions on health care reform was also such a fine example of reaching across the aisle.
It’s sad when a magazine’s editors have no mind of their own and just reprints the talking points faxed to them from the DNC.
the last time soul was seen at this WH was when Aretha sang at the Immaculation...
Eleanor Cliff..she’s still alive? I guess it has been many years since I looked at a Slimes magazine. Now, why is she still writing? Does anybody read her?

"where'd I put that soul"
If Clift is who the progs are listening to these days, they are so screwed. Snark!
And how can it be half-hearted when they don’t have a heart?
well, that's exactly what I was going to say, but you said it so eloquently and in much bigger letters. :-)
It is time to (politically not literally) hammer a oak stake through the heart of that witch. It is going to take something that extreme to end her career.
A new "Committee on Un-American Activities sounds pretty reasonable to me.
Obama may not even want to run for re-election, unless a second term is handed to him on a silver platter. It’s obvious he’s bored with the job. It has nice perks, but other than that, it’s a big drag. And his wife agrees. Perhaps he’d like something that he considers more elevated - like CEO of the world, or at least Secretary General of the UN.
As for the whites who won’t vote for him, he despises them. He’ll do what he wants, through “czars” or executive orders. They can go fly a kite, as far as he’s concerned.
From the article:
“Obama is an undefined figure to much of the country”
Eleanor, Eleanor—I know you think we’re a bunch of uneducated hicks who lack the capacity to understand the nuance of his brilliance, but I can assure you that Obama is NOT an undefined figure to us bitter clingers.
They’re searching FOR their souls.
They won’t find any.
