Sarah Palin's Alaska takes viewers into the country's 'final frontier' through the eyes of one of its most famous citizens - Sarah Palin. Sarah is joined by various family members as she shares the state she knows and loves. Along with Alaska's great wilderness, the Palins' encounter Alaska's fascinating residents and share what its takes to thrive in the country's largest state.
While we wait for the show to start tonight, Sarah Palin has posted a video from the series at PalinTVunfiltered she calls "Mother and Daughter Bonding"
TLC is channel 280 on DirecTV
9:00PM Eastern
8:00PM Central
It’s cold here too, not much rain today.
Sat and Sat nite it poured
Turns out that the 7 pm show was a repeat of last week, the new one was on at 9
Some posters here like to follow the lead of the leftists and the media because they are threatened by the strength and poise of the Palin family.
His "the press in an effete corps of impudent snobs" comment was even better...
LOL. She’s amazing! We can laugh at them with her.
I take great delight in her triumphs and I know you do too!
Oh, I’m so sorry, but you can see several of the videos online.
Thank you. Their hypocrisy make it easy though!
Loved tonite’s show. Such a beautiful State. So glad we bought Seward’s Folly, just for the halibut. Loved Sarah’s line “don’t retreat, just reload”. Sums up Tea Party philosophy perfectly. Watching them fry up and eat the halibut made me mucho hungry. Reminded me of trips to Door County in Wisconsin when I was younger, where they have their famous fish boils. Something about eating outdoors makes the food taste all the more wonderful. Looking totally forward to next week’s episode.
You don’t think she is qualified?
Where have you been?
The clubbing of the halibut stuns the fish to keep it from thrashing itself on the ship’s deck. The thrashing gets quite violent and damages the tissues; ruining the texture of the meat. It was interesting to see these fish still quivering after they had gutted them, removed the heart and stuffed them with ice.
I can imagine the challenge stunning a 200 lb halibut. One false move and you could have a broken leg. In fact, Sarah yelped when one slapped her leg.
Sarah and Bristol showed great courage taking on their jobs pulling them aboard and clubbing these treacherous animals.
LOL. Your comments are delightful. I am smiling. “That woman Palin” She is truly special. Her series is a huge hit! The debut show broke TLC’s viewing record - almost 5 million viewers! Thanks very much for watching and for commenting on this thread. See you tonight on DWTS? Voting for Bristol 800-868-3407.
:)
I was hoping that someone on board did an Andrew Zimmern and take that heart and pop it in his mouth. Its an Alaskan tradition that the first halibut you catch, if you want to be a good fisherman, you have to eat the heart.
Yes, I take great pleasure in watching her progress from victory to victory, in her sure and steady stride toward the presidency.
I'll tell you something, Onyx. I knew that I was looking at an American who would go down in our history books, the first moment I laid eyes on her. I have believed in her since hearing her acceptance speech in 2008, and she has not let me down. For what it's worth, I don't think she ever will.
In rare moments in our history, extraordinary people who prove worthy of our trust, rise to lead the country in times of peril. Those few are remembered and revered by a grateful nation for all time. I believe Sarah Palin to be such a person.
This is the best TV program I have ever watched...
Oops. Don’t thank me.
I say, let’s thank Sarah!
SPAK is really a wholesome family show.
Family ties is what this country need to strengthen. We will need the love and trust of our respective families in the future, when European Union falls (and chips will be on us too).
Two things about the future:
1. EU is disintegrating ... one country after anothers.
2. EU is now more “susceptible” to Radical Islam than ever.
SPAK reminds us that we really need to cherish and enjoy our family while we still can. We do not really know what will happen in the future.
It's really not a reality show...it's kind of like the "Dirty Jobs" show where an aspect of Alaska is presented in an entertaining way with some entertaining hosts. It is kind of a unique format in its own way. I would agree that it's not "Presidential"...but strangely enough I think that's a plus for her political career. If the show wasn't entertaining nobody would watch it.
Not just PETA, but “vegetarians” who eat fish because they don’t want to slaughter the cute little fuzzy animals will see how fish are killed and eaten.
I’m sure you got lots of responses, but in case I missed them, it was Spiro Agnew, Nixon’s VP.
Rove’s candidate showcase couldn’t fill a half hour show let alone eight hours of entertainment. Watched it twice with you know who enjoying it as much the second time as the first.
My son caught a halibut once when they were salmon fishing. (He worked two season salmon fishing in AK) Said it’s not only the ugliest fish you’ve ever seen but the most agressive. Out of season and they were just trying to get it back in the water and it almost did them in. He has a picture. It was almost as big as he was. Not only do I have a great deal of respect for MamaBear but also the Pistol for doing what they did.
We commented on the same thing. Maybe people will understand why she is improving week after week...OTOH To some “Work” is just a four letter word.
