"And I can take over the plane with nail clippers?" Hey, he could threaten to ruin the pilot's manicure!

Can the pilots carry nail clippers? I mean, a pilot with nail clippers might try to take control of the plane.

Funny, the soldier knows about a hundred different ways to kill you with either (not counting the bullets).

They can be used as a weapon.
That would pretty much mean every Marine, Green Beret, Navy Seal, and Delta Force member cannot fly.

A friend of mine works in a large airport. All of the airport employees were forced to empty their lockers, and clear the contents through airport security. My friend had a large, and very sharp steak knife in the locker. Put the knife and other items on the x-ray belt, and was handed back the steak knife after passing security. Back into the locker it went.

Excuse me, Ahmad, but I must confiscate that knife before you get on the plane.
But, why? I need it to strip the wires to connect the bomb I am holding in my hands!
Oh, OK. Keep the knife.

232 battle hardened soldiers on an aircraft, or anywhere for that matter, ARE A WEAPON! Whether they’re armed or not. If they wanted that plane, it was theirs for the taking.
Flippin morons these TSA goons.

I am really surprised that the TSA didn't charge that soldier with a crime. Afterall, he questioned a TSA agent's authority. You can't do that anymore.

One can’t serve in the military or the defense inductry without “clearance.” Why not extend the “clearance” policy to ALMOST everyone?
It’s called profiling.

Before 9/11, every airline pilot carried two indispensable tools in his flight bag - a Swiss army knife (usually the “executive size” with small blade, toothpick, tweezers, etc.) and a mini-screwdriver with a few extra tiny eyeglass screws. Effective 9/12, they were all confiscated by the TSA.
I was flying an early morning transcon on a Boeing 767, bound from LAX to the east coast. Passing Denver, the unthinkable happened - a lens from my prescription sunglasses dropped on the cockpit floor. The screw holding the lens in had fallen out. Briefly I thought of landing in DEN to have a mechanic bring us a screwdriver. Finally, we asked the Flight Attendant to discreetly ask the first class pax if anyone had a paper clip. We took the end of the clip and beat it flat against the seat rail) with the aircraft logbook.
In retrospect, I shoulda landed in Denver. The TSA politically correct sycophants deserved by dragged onto the 5:00 news long before 2010.

The TSA should be disbanded NOW.Their only function appears to be to harass the American People.Yet they’ll allow people of a certain religion and region of this planet to walk through unimpeded.
