The release date on that trailer said “Summer 2009”.This is the description of the trailer:
I made this a couple years ago to test out some new equipment and software...way before the studio was actually remaking it, and figured I'd put it up. Was to be used to get funding for a real remake. Trailer for the remake of the 1984 film "Red Dawn." This time the Chinese will be invading us, not the Russians. Music from Bryan Tyler's "Children of Dune" Soundtrack.

A silly premise. The Chinese won’t invade because they have all but won the economic war. Many of our factories have already been disassembled and shipped to China. Besides our land, there won’t be much left to plunder.
