Photos provide clues for Chinese Type 056 corvette design

The first images of a probable new corvette design for the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) have emerged following a visit by the deputy commander of the Hong Kong military garrison to a local college.
Photographs published on the Hong Kong University website showed Major General Wang Junli presenting a model of the vessel, which has an estimated displacement of between 1,000 tons and 1,800 tons and bears the pennant number 056, to the institution's vice chancellor during the visit on 4 November.
The presentation by a local military commander suggests that the new Type 056 corvette – if this is indeed its designation – may be intended to replace or supplement the PLAN's six Houjian-class (Type 037/2) fast attack craft (FACs). Armed with YJ-1 (C-801) surface-to-surface missiles (SSMs), these 528-ton craft have been based in Hong Kong since 1997.
According to Chinese sources, however, the new vessel is set to replace the Houxin-class (Type 037/G) attack craft and older Type 053S light frigates. Observers of the PLAN have known for some time that the service was planning an extensive construction programme for a corvette-sized vessel. Of course, it does not bode well for the US if China continues to improve its military while the Manchurian surrender monkey is in the WH.

I still remember the walmart ads.. They showed the item, then told you where it came from and showed you the plant that made it. Always US based.
Now your hard pressed to find ANYTHING made in america at walmart (or target, or anywhere else for that matter)

It certainly doesn't help that our own government puts up so many roadblocks to actually making anything the USA that it just simply isn't worth the effort to do so anymore. I don't blame retailers for that, they are simply reacting to the negative consequences of US policies.
How does that ship intend to defend itself against a bunch of rubber duckies?
I get so tired of hearing this.
At what point does our side stop selling American workers down the river, and start to think about the real world strategic implications of becoming a weak, incapable nation at the pity of hugely rich tyrannical nations, with a historical grudge?
We are so screwed, if this does not stop.
Besides, the reason we import so damn much from China is due to the fact that both parties (but mostly Dem) have passed regulations and restrictions that make it virtually impossible to make things at a reasonable cost here in the states. Also, unions and businesses agreed to deals that set off financal crises that are now coming to fruition.
The irony of it all is that the "union label" in clothing has been replaced by "made in ".

Really. We will be destroyed. Everything we are doing now, is making that destruction inevitable.

The biggest roadblock to manufacturing in the U.S. is a daily wage above $10.
When we value our sovereignty more than profit. When we value the worker more than profit. When unions stop extorting money for "no work jobs". When the Puritan work ethic is not considered to be offensive.
Repealing the federal minimum wage would certainly be a good start. Unskilled labor simply isn't worth what the US government it is. But I would go further, US corporate income taxes are among the highest in the world. The US also imposes many other restrictions and regulations on business that makes it too hard for manufacturing to be profitable. Many states also impose forced union membership on people, which further discourage businesses from hiring. Roll some of that back, and the manufacturing sector will come back to life.
Stating the facts is not whining. We did price ourselves out of the market.
So we commit national suicide?
