Fully awake here. Would it even penetrate if I said I understand and believe with every cell in my body exactly what you’re saying? I’m not a Palin hater, not even a Palin dis-liker, but only the semi-conscious won’t see she’s not perfect. My point was, I don’t respect her parenting because I have seen it in action, on stage, on TV, and crazy me, it bothers me. I didn’t say I wouldn’t vote for her. Man. I get it. I just don’t want another six years of this. And if I’m sick of it, it worries me scores of other voters are sick enough of it, she won’t get elected.
The real issue here is that the whole Palin family is on the front lines in this war, from the youngest children to the grandparents. Through their experiences, we should be learning the kind of enemy we and all our children will eventually have to face and fight. Martyrdom is for suckers and losers. There is no neutral ground, and every man, woman, and child will have to fight.
The children of millions of other families are already, or soon will be, also engaged in this war. There will be profanity, vicious language, thrown objects, and eventually many, many dead bodies; old, young, and in between; of all sizes, shapes, and colors.
I doubt that parenting skills will be discussed during the intermissions.
Let me chime in here. I saw the first episode on the TLC repeat last night and I have to agree with indoor girl. The family was being filmed and all knew it. First the boyfriend disobeys her and sneaks up the stairs when he thinks Sarah isn't looking. She calls Willow on her cell phone (from downstairs to upstairs) and tells her to send him back down. The boy comes down and sits on the couch as of nothing happens. She doesn't say a word to him as if it didn't happen. She should have sent him home and then dealt with Willow who also had been told no boys upstairs.
Later in the family RV the girls are fighting and acting up, just being bratty and talking back to her. They are old enough to know better and it doesn't paint a pretty picture of Sarah's parenting skills and certainly doesn't endear the viewer to the family. So I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Willow turns up pregnant.
