"Not only are these porno scanners a gross violation of individual privacy," said boycott co-founder George Donnelly, "they're also a threat to the health of millions of passengers and ineffective as well. The goal of the demonstrations is to urge Americans to exercise their legal right to 'opt out' of the scan."
If you have to fly on November 24, We Won't Fly urges you to opt out of the new scanners for your own health and privacy. Say "I opt out!" Be prepared for delays and intimate TSA "patdowns." If you're not flying on November 24, We Won't Fly urges you to tell your friends, family and community members who are flying. Organizers of local meetups can list their events on our nationwide map at http://WeWontFly.com/opt-out-day.
As University of California scientists noted earlier this year, the airport scanners may pose a serious health risk. "Our overriding concern is the extent to which the safety of this scanning device has been adequately demonstrated. This can only be determined by a meeting of an impartial panel of experts that would include medical physicists and radiation biologists at which all of the available relevant data is reviewed," they said in a letter of concern.

And cut-n-paste at that.
I am with you on this. Creating this mass hysteria over your safety.
Can’t help but wonder what the terrorists are all thinking now.
People need to get a grip and remember what got us to here, namely 9/11.
Just one?
Here’s a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports:
All we need to do is develop a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have hidden on or in your body. The explosion will be contained within the sealed booth.
This would be a win-win for everyone There would be none of this garbage about racial profiling and the device would eliminate long and expensive trials.
This is so simple it’s brilliant. I can see it now: you’re in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system, “Attention, standby passengers! We now have a seat available on flight number...”
Out of Dulles and no sexual touching pat downs, eh?
Well there’s a clue. Who the heck flies out of Dulles?
Protecting fellow citizens is more like it. Holding the bridge against the hordes of depravity!
That *is* brilliant.
HA!! I think that is a great idea.!
How about having a stranger touch my children in
their private areas? H*LL NO!
Oh, I get it, don’t let strangers touch you just government workers. Are you really that blind to what is occurring or just being provocative?
Ain’t no law in no land gonna come b/t me and my child in that regard.
Yes! Don't we at least deserve a custom tailored trolling at that? LOL!
So I have read some of your postings. You are not a troll. At least not on other issues.
Apparently, I am the only one to whom you have responded on this thread. However, you still have not answered my questions, especially the one in my original post.
I stated that you are obviously comfortable with a progression of your rights being violated.
Again, at what point do you draw the line for an intrusion upon your rights? While this thread pertains to our bodies, we can include our cars, our homes, our speech, our perceived thoughts?
If this is childish to you, the please tell me where is your line in the sand? Civil debate, please.
You can pick up your "I got a TSA Handjob at Dulles" t-shirt as you exit.
He used to do this at highway rest area for free and now he is union.
Like children adopting the newest fad.
The real problem is that searching old white men in wheelchairs, babies, and 3-year old girls hasn't produced one bomb yet.
This PC-RANDOM selection of those to search is what is wrong.
We must use what works. The Israeli's have a method that works. Why can't it be used here?
I ask you the same as Chuzzlewit.
Where do you draw the line?
Maybe I can explain it this way. Do you think anyone who is about to obliterate hundreds or thousands of people has the ability to engage in a normal conversation? the ability to look someone in the eye? There is a detachment that someone has who is about to commit a vile and despicable act.
Common sense has left us.
Granted.
So why do they search those LEAST LIKELY to be carrying a bomb?
The problem is not with the 'search', the problem is with whom they select to search.
Many years ago, the DEA had trained agents and dogs to ferret out those who looked/acted suspicious. Now we can't have trained agents (like the Israeli's do) or dogs. And we can't search the most likely suspects AT ALL.
That is the real problem.
Do you touch your daughters? Have other men touch them? Or just if they wear a TSA uniform?
That is terrifying thought.
Yeah. God forbid someone getting on FR and posting because they want to debate. This is not the place. /SARCASM
