As University of California scientists noted earlier this year, the airport scanners may pose a serious health risk. I think you need to realize this is the Federal government we are talking about and calling your congress critter doesn’t get a lot done.
I agree. But fighting it based on a Constitutional right of freedom from unreasonable search won't keep us from getting killed.
How about we search the real suspects, instead of randomly picking babies, nuns, and old white retired US veterans in wheelchairs to search?
Then that is what must change. Searching without PROBABLE CAUSE. I.E. The P.C.-Random search of only those who look like they would never be a terrorist.
Use the NO FLY list, allow the FBI/CIA/HOMELAND SECURITY to freely exchange information, PROFILE, use DOGS, and AGENTS trained to detect suspicious behavior. Pull those people out of line and search them.
It's how they used to do it when the only 'contraband' was drugs, not bombs.

There are all kinds of reasons, and all kinds of places where you can get the same kind of body search, especially if you act suspicious, or set off a metal detector. No one seems to be complaining about that.
There is one poster here that said the SAME THING, by remarking that he gets 'searched' three times just going to work.
how about you people getting some perspective.

CHUZZY being a long term freeper should know If you are gonna make stupid comments that do not make sense then at least defend them.
If I got attacked like that, I might not feel very comfortable responding either. Accusations of being a child molester, based on one simple, and very limited comment, are something that should be BANNED on FR. They call that SLANDER.

From the OTHER COMMENTS made by Chuzzy, I would say he agrees as well.
If you wish to fault him/her for poor communication skills, well there is a ton of other FREEPERS who are just a bad about that.
There are some (SEVEN OF NINE comes to mind) who are almost impossible to understand.
A 'conservative' would have addressed CHUZZY's comments one by one, asking what he meant, if they felt it wasn't clear.
DEMANDS that CHUZZY 'defend' himself (when it might not be clear to him why he should defend his particular comments) usually get the same response as when any ADULT is TOLD to do something by someone else.
If I were chuzzy, and being maliciously attacked by a bunch of 'knee-jerk' response posters who are ignoring the real issue (WHO they are searching, not HOW), I would probably go to another thread, or just get off the computer and enjoy the rest of my day.
The point here is, IS CHUZZY RIGHT? What good will this NO GROPE day do towards protecting the citizens of the US from terrorists?

The FEDS (under HOMELAND SECURITY) created TSA and in the law, stated that for the FIRST YEAR, the TSA agents would have to be FEDERAL EMPLOYEES. After that, the option was left up to the airlines if they wanted to drop them, and hire private ‘agents’.
SO... if the airlines use private agents, then they could (according to you) continue with the RANDOM-P.C. searches, and you couldn’t do a thing about it.
Either way, the PROBLEM is not solved.

I do my best to try and understand where someone is coming from, and try not to condemn them based on just a few words.
I have been on FR for many, many years, and I have seen this type of miscommunication , erroneous assumption, knee-jerk TROLL patrols, and uncalled for SLANDER before. (and I don't mean you. You have been very reasonable during this thread.)
