Scarborough: Palin Knows She Can't Win, In It For Money
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 11/18/2010 4:41:49 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Joe Scarborough has a decidedly cynical take on Sarah Palin's public musings about the possibility of a 2012 presidential run. The Morning Joe host asserts that Palin knows she can't win and won't run.

According to Scarborough, Palin is in it for the money, and is engaging in open speculation about a run for the mercenary purpose of keeping her brand alive.

Joe offered his jaded view on today's Morning Joe after the show aired a clip of Palin telling Barbara Walters that she believed she could defeat Pres. Obama.

Being asked why she felt the need to resign to direct her efforts toward building a national conservative movement and helping to lead the GOP to the 2010 midterm history making victories and the 2012 Presidential race, will be a sweet question to Governor Palin.

LOL …I bet more people posted here than actually watch the Joe Scarborough show. I just wonder if he just blurted it out or planned it. Picture him thinking if I say something controversial about Palin people will hear my name and my liberal friends will invite me over for Thanksgiving. It’s a win win situation!!!

I'm sorry, raybbr, I must have missed your personal campaign in Connecticut to have ethics charges leveled against Richard Blumenthal. And if Connecticut doesn't have the same kind of ethics laws that Alaska does, well, then - what are you waiting for? Get on getting them passed, already, so's we can smite our opponents with them! Keep us informed of your progress. After your success, we can revisit the conversation about Palin.

You SHOULD be sorry - for making one of the most nonsensical posts I have ever read...

"And so as I thought about this announcement that I wouldn't run for re-election and what it means for Alaska, I thought about how much fun some governors have as lame ducks... travel around the state, to the Lower 48 (maybe), overseas on international trade - as so many politicians do. And then I thought - that's what's wrong - many just accept that lame duck status, hit the road, draw the paycheck, and "milk it". I'm not putting Alaska through that..."

Of course this reasoning is nonsense.

Not only is it nonsense but it appears that Palin, by her reasoning, had no choice but to "hit the road, draw the paycheck and 'milk it'". Either way, as lame duck governor or whatever she is now.

I wonder if Palin now sees the iron/hypocrisy of that statement now?

She won’t run.
She’s cashing in.
If she does run she won’t get the GOP nomination. Her support will collapse during the primaries and the party leadership hates her.
The GOP leaders that say they like her hate her. She’s not one of them.
The Neocons like her because they think they can control her foreign policy. They believe she’s a “useful Idiot”. They are really followers of Trotsky anyway. But even they are a little scared of her. She may not be so controllable.
She probably knows all this but she may be delusional. Fame does that to you.”

Ron Paul, is that you?

Even though you're an expert on hypocrisy (swimming gleefully in it yourself), I'm still not going to concede your faux arguments on Palin's actions.

Once again, I'll reiterate that you're one of the crowd who apparently has NO problem with political hacks burning taxpayer money & government employee time with phony ethics complaints against their political opponents.

Since you didn't use the same tactic against Richard Blumenthal in Connecticut (which is apparently your home state), you're just an Internet hypocrite & blowhard.

Put your time & energy where your mouth is, lackwit, and then your opinion about Palin might be worth more two pinches of puppy poop.

The serious business that you are failing to understand is that our country is on the precipice of destruction by an out of control government and a party that is only interested in "winning".

Your "she's not electable"/"we need to win" BS is what people are fed up with right now. They are tired of being screwed over and over again by the old vote for "who can win" candidate election after election. We are told to compromise on our core values in order to "win" an election. There is not much to be said of a so-called Castle/McCain/Snowe/Collins GOPer who will reach-across-the-aisle to screw us everytime.

Yes, I am serious...deadly serious. I would rather go down with my principles and ideals in tact then to sell out like you for an empty win.

Wow! Great, well, nothing. You know nothing about me yet attack me personally. You have no idea what I participated in in the last election yet you have it all figured out. You have no idea who I voted for or what I have done to sway votes yet you attack with all the vigor and righteousness of a true Alinsky zealot.

All I can do is laugh at you on the internet because, well, quite simply that's all your opinion's are worth.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

I’ve tried to avoid (with some success) reading your inanities on FR for nigh onto ten years. Sometimes, you just shoot your mouth off too much to be ignored, lackwit.

Folks, let's be serious. This is serious business.

Then who do you suggest we support? Romney? Or another RINO? Sarah represents what conservatives believe in a beautiful and articulate package. She's a much better candidate than O'Donnell, you can't compare the two. I want to support a candidate who believes in what is good and right about our country. I don't want to have to hold my nose and vote for another RINO because he's "not as bad as Obama".

Then by all means - keep ignoring me. I would relish it.

BTW, I have read through your posts. I don't glean any in depth analysis from you either. Just lots of name calling. Makes me happy you've ignored me till now.

If anyone has can post a new topic, here’s a poll over at Fox to FREEP:

The Romney folks are in there now and he’s close to taking the lead.

Your eyes probably glazed when you read about the mortgage foreclosure fraud stuff, seeing as how that was pretty in depth. Sorry to tax your lack of economic knowledge.

I'll ignore your posts if you keep your hypocritical opinions about Palin to yourself (or to your Palin-hatin' pals via FReep mail). Shoot your mouth off about it in the open forum, I'll be all over your garbage like a cheap suit.

Another major LOL. I have never mailed to anyone about Palin but you keep your fantasy up. I see that it feeds your hate.
