Today's review of write-in ballots ended with Sen. Lisa Murkowski enjoying an apparently insurmountable 10,420-vote lead over Joe Miller.
Murkowski also now has collected more votes that went unchallenged by Miller ballot observers than Miller's total vote count. That makes it appear as though Miller's lawsuit to seeking to toss out misspelled votes is irrelevant, since there aren't enough of those for him to win.
The Division of Elections has now counted a total of 100,868 votes for Murkowski. Miller has 90,448.

Yes, but "making sure" implies a level of organization that the Tea Party movement lacked last election.
The so-called "Tea Party" candidates were generally not selected on purpose by Tea Party organizations. Rather, the Tea Party crowd just sorta latched on to certain candidates, for reasons that had a lot more to do with enthusiasm and emotional attraction, than with practical political considerations -- chief among which being the rather obvious lesson that the primaries are not the same as the general election.
Ballot stuffing.
Maybe you have overestimated the “conservatism” of AK voters. They are very secular there.
Murkowski IS the “moderate” Republican you would have us settle for. Are we supposed to cave to these power-hungry amoral career poiticians because they can get elected?
No, we’re better off knowing who’s who. Except Murkowski who still wears a Republican label and therefore will help propagate the “bibpartisan” propaganda when she helps shove some socialist crap down our throats. I’ll only support conservatives from now on, politics-as-usual be damned!
I heard differently from the campaign. The information in the Anchorage paper was incorrect during the primary and possibly is now. Need a different source of information than ADN.
The lib Rino was able to have a do-over because the lib media allowed it.
Do you think if Joe would have lost the primary, and decided HE wanted a do-over...that he would have been supported by all local and national media with glowing coverage, with favorable judicial rulings, with $$$$$$$ from Democrats in DC (as Lisa did), with PR about how to fill out a write-in????
No way.
No matter what the gloating trolls here say....a Conservative won that primary.
Yep, and I bet he has asked you to send him more money.
Doesn’t matter.
If that happened, they would sue in Federal court on the basis that this law cannot apply to Senators.
The U.S. Constitution provides the means for removing Senators.
A recall is not one of the options.
If we want it to be an option, we need to change the constitution.
With nearly all the names on write-in ballots tallied, officials had counted 100,868 votes in Ms. Murkowski's favor, compared with 90,468 votes for Mr. Miller from the Nov. 2 election, according to Alaska elections officials.
Of those 100,868 votes for Ms. Murkowski, Mr. Miller's camp has challenged 8,153 because of misspellings and other imperfections. Not counting the challenged votes, Ms. Murkowski would be left with 92,715 votes.
I think there’s a good chance that a moderate third party candidate could win if both major parties go hard to their base.
Unless you get a judge your daddy appointed to ignore the law and stack the deck for you.
If the primary winner runs a general election campaign as bad as Miller, it can happen.
He did not take the general election seriously enough. He was measuring the drapes while Lisa was plotting.
many winning politicians do the same....and that has been the way its been since day one...
did she do that well with the absentees?
I don't think this race is more than a couple of thousand votes apart but its not those that vote but those that count the votes...
Cow will suffer from this....she is like a cancer and I don't accept her....then again, I don't donate to the pub party so its no skin off my knee....
Cow is a Cancer......that's my motto....
The approved term is 'flippin'.'
In fact the GOP was behind her winning, not the GOP candidate, Joe Miller.
He's too conservative.
The GOP got behind Murkowski right from the beginning, when she lost the primary.
Heck, they sent their top notch lawyers up there to help her steal win the election.
She is one of their liberal leftist GOP Good Old Boys.
Frankly I don’t care if a Dem wins at this point, if she runs for reelection again: Lisa Pork cow ski, I am at WAR with.
