All the supermarkets switched to plastic bags because the green fascists complained that paper bags were a waste of trees. Now we’re back to paper bags. Until they ban those too. LA County has a $500 million+ budget deficit and they’re spending time and resources on outlawing plastic bags! They can carry their groceries home in the same hand basket in which they are going to hell.

While I agree with the ban because I hate to see them all over the countryside, the extra charge for paper bags is ridiculous!

These left wing idiots are the same ones who insisted, a few years ago, that we just HAD to switch to plastic in order to save the trees, the bad, terrible paper bags were wiping out the trees of the world and we had to go to plastic. Now, plastic is bad, according to them, and we need to go back to paper or cloth, both or which take trees to make. Unintended consequences or just a matter of running out of things to outlaw in order to take our freedom from us?

We also have plastic bags here in my little corner of NJ. I rarely see any blowing around here. I cannot understand what the difference might be between our NJ bags and those LA bags.

If grocers choose to offer paper bags, they must sell them for 10 cents each, according to the ordinance. The revenue will be retained by the stores to purchase the paper bags and educate customers about the law.
