An Israeli guy (can’t remember his name) who was once involved in overseeing Israel’s airport security was on Fox this weekend. He made the perfect distinction between our airport security measures and those of Israel. He said that “The U.S. screens for objects that may be dangerous, Israel screens for people that may be dangerous.” About says it all.

Somebody posted a thread of an article about that guy. The closing line basically says things will change in US’ security only when the public DEMANDS that it changes, and that Americans tend to just do what they’re told to do because they don’t know any different.

We can laugh about the stuff that could be done to make life so miserable for the TSA screeners that they demand change, but it sounds like Israel got what they have only because Israelis would not put up with what Israeli leadership initially tried to put them through.

If we want them to take security seriously we have to push back until they actually hear us.
