Why must schools use their time to discuss students’ feelings about homosexuality? Couldn’t they just repeat verb conjugations or memorize the dates of all the Chinese dynasties or Presidential elections?

I guess not ...

I agree, why was this under discussion? That is the point that is being missed here. I really don’t think it’s appropriate, it is something that is the purview of the home and family.

This guy is being paid to teach Economics, not to discuss anyones personal opinions on homosexuality.

Good question. Many assignments in high schools focus on the students’ feelings about ‘relevant’ social issues. Facts, figures, scientific laws, understanding economics, and learning how to write a complete sentence are on the backburner.

Bothers me when I hear teachers laying the boom on irrelevant nonsense that shouldn’t have a place in the classroom.
